Modders are both the worst and best thing with this game. Making money without modders is the worst, but interacting with modders in any other way than receiving money is the worst. Doing anything for the first time will be thirty minutes of unskippable cutscenes. Doing heist setups will make you drive across the map and back for no reason. The majority of the design decisions are just to be as un-fun and tedious as possible to pressure you into buying shark cards. It's fun, but getting money outside of having it modded is the worst.

Early Access Review
This game is good but flawed down to the core. The guns are satisfying and it's fun to watch the enemies explode into blood. The flaws become apparent after the first few levels when you first die. The enemies stay dead and you're just teleported to the last checkpoint area. The developers genuinely seem to not care about this. It is easily the #1 talked about and complained about flaw in the game and to my knowledge they haven't spoken on it. Changing the dumbass checkpoint system would immediately fix half of the issues with the game. With the three actually difficult enemies, it's going to be hard for a little young fella to learn how to fight them when the little fella can just die 400x and slowly whittle down the enemy. When death has no consequence there's no real urge to get good.

Speaking of the enemies, there is a lack of interesting and varied AI. You've got poo boy zombies, shotgunners, imps, big dog bastards, cacodemons, pain elementals, lost souls, spindly strong dudes, crawling kamikaze crab dudes, and blue equivalents of all of those enemies. It might seem like a large roster, but then you realize you're spending 50% of your time shooting imps and shotgunners. It's fun but after a while it gets boring to just shoot the same dudes over and over. The imps are also a bit of a sore spot. I can literally stand still and the imps will miss every time, but I have died several times to imps fireballs while midair and strafing. When you're in the crazy cluttered arenas it's hard to watch every imp's fireball to make sure that I'm able to dodge the second fireball with enhanced tracking. Little blue glowing crab dudes who explode on death are also annoying, but they appear in droves in every single level. They're not annoying because they kill me and make me mad cuz bad, they just get annoying because of their prevalence. I know they're not triple A developers and you can't expect them to have 48 quadrillion enemies, but just a portion more would help a lot.


An additional flaw and my personal greatest issue with the game is the reloading. I'm not opposed to reloading to kinda goad the player into switching weapons and playing smarter instead of just relying on one, but man, it does get really annoying taking 15 seconds after every fight to reload every single gun in my arsenal. Adding a passive reload would improve the combat flow without compromising the developers want for reload in the first place.

The greatest FPS of all time. The new mechanics add interesting and deep levels of combat. The environments and platforming allow for insanely good level design and far better in combat mobility. The enemy roster is unique and each require strategy to take down. The impact of the weapons is unmatched. The destructible demons system add more brutal impact to the combat. The runes and weapon mods allow you to change how you play the game. The story has been ramped up to eleven. Although full mod support isn't out yet, the currently existing mods are pretty cool.
