Some great little unique puzzles, a very chill sound track. Mesmerizing really. Visually a treat and mechanically unique. I went in thinking I would only make it so far, that I would get board with it, but it keeps you engaged with the interesting puzzles and then delights you with some trippy visuals. Worth a play!

I am getting some serious PS1 JRPG, Brave Fencer Musashi vibes over here. If they can straddle the line of humor they have with a gripping story and some great characters + and most importantly, avoid the pit trap of rogue-lite titles the indie video game scene seems to be stuck in at the moment this could be an amazing game! So excited to see where this goes. I love the look, the character portraits and I was surprised how much I enjoyed the bump battle mechanics and the long range attacks. So simple, so enjoyable. Don't let me down plz :D

THE GOOD:
This game is unique but feels in many ways like Zelda. Its got all the hallmarks of a Zelda-like but the controls are what make the game unique and worth playing. Many say the controls are annoying or frustrating but thematically its fun and creates a great challenge.

Its visuals are a treat and the sound design is satisfying. I wish their were more tracks per area but that is a complement for than a slight.

THE BAD:
The game starts strong and closes with a whimper. I was very much into the controls the visuals and the story but when the reach the last area it turns into a a gauntlet of Sokoban style puzzles that are indeed frustrating and out of place with the control system found in this game. It feels like they had a lot of interesting ideas and some of that is on display in the mini-games but they let those Sokoban puzzles eat the last 4-5 levels up and then the final boss battle is weak. Then the story wraps up with some stills and it just feels like their was a vision here that was cut short to be honest. I enjoyed the game but the conclusion does not make me want to keep playing the mini-games and unlocking all of the remaining stuff. :/

CONCLUSION:
Worth your time and money for something visually and mechanically unique but it feels rushed and towards the end to me.

I was really surprised how much I enjoyed the first 3/4ths of this game. I was totally sucked in. The graphics are great, the story telling is amazing and the voice acting is really pretty good. But, it kinda lost me in the last quarter of the game. The story does not pay off in a way that I enjoyed. The story is what will hold you because the game play is very basic. So, when the story let me down I finished it out of a need to follow through and not because I was enjoying it anymore. Still, its a good game. I can't fault the story for letting me down. Many people will probably still love it.

Spoiler: The villain is not represented in the main story in a meaningful way until very late and that makes this not a "who done it mystery" but instead something that never intended you to be able to guess the end and that just bothered me.

Tonally there is a small amount of humor thrown in at the very end scene that I just did not like. It felt very out of place.

Sonic the hedgehog, eat your heart out! You want to go fast? This the your game.

Pros:

Cons/wishlist to the devs:
The ability to keep and equip a build
(I get it rogue likes are fun, but I would rather have a more RPG style equipment management system than the current “random items on sale and then they get trashed at the end of a run setup. I want to keep my stuff and feel out my fave build.

Needs more unique biomes (They get a little repetitive)

Needs more music (what is here is killer but I want more of the good tunes)

Lastly, I wish the world and characters felt like there was more progression. The hub world can feel empty despite there being other characters there.

Overall.the cons are me just wanting more of this game. Please flesh the world and adventure further.

Amazing visuals, a great story with endearing characters, fun puzzles. The length is short and the game is pretty easy, but that's not a bad thing in my book. Worth a play for sure if you want to go on a great VR adventure.

What a great game! The art is amazing. The story telling is intriguing and heartfelt. The leveling and combat system are spot on and make the game feel much bigger than it is. I only wish this game was longer. A must play little title!

FOR FREE? Yeah, this is a great game. Would have paid for it to be honest.

I love the short format but would love a series of these expanding on Abigail
The plane of the dead was a cool aspect but could have been polished more mechanically.
Had to restart the game once because the option to sleep again disappeared to get the cloth inspected. (bug)
Not a huge fan of Abigail's design.

It't mot the best Final Fantasy but its far from the worst. I miss turn based combat more than anything here. Its worth playing if your a fan of the series or you are looking for a pretty cool open world game with alot of monster hunting.

Soooo relaxing and chill. Gorgeous visual, amazing sound track, and satisfying sound design. An intriguing story and a short but satisfying length. This is what I love about video games... they can be art.
