When will you finally learn?!

Gameplay: 6/10 feels a lot like Deserts of Kharak in space, but the pathing is terrible especially for strike craft. It's more beneficial for strike craft in small groups of 3 to take on singular blobs of strike craft. That one blob will try to turn together at the speed of the Titanic while getting picked off by smaller groups. Introduction of abilities isn't working for Homeworld.

Ingame Art/FX: 9/10 this team knocked it out of the park

Campaign Story: 1/10 literally unbearable. I found myself skipping cutscenes from mission #5 onwards from how bad the VA was, to the hackneyed "strong female characters" at the expense of all other plot points. Moderators and community manager in the HW discord are extremely touchy and defensive whenever SBI is mentioned.

Multiplayer: War Games co-op is an interesting concept, but difficulty according to player count isn't scaled at all. Playing this solo will be nigh on impossible when the 2nd mission will throw endless swarms at you and you're only limited to having 8 frigates

Verdict: Wait for sale. Campaign gameplay is pretty decent if you don't mind having to skip the horrendous cutscenes

I've not played this game in the last 2-3 weeks and recently had a good think about the why, and came to this realization:

There's nothing to grind for.

The guns in the last two battlepasses looked enticing and were fun for a couple days, only to be nerfed into uselessness. The weapons which I found enjoyable were rapidly turned into peashooters. Players are expected to endure difficulty 8/9 with lousy guns for some reason.

Whomever works on combat design and balancing in Arrowhead needs to find a new career, because they are literally killing player retention. Arrowhead, please find someone to replace this loser.

I don't get what the fuss this is all about. Don't bother installing.

Matches never get started because players cannot stay connected to a match, and matches will end prematurely since there "aren't enough players in the match".

Gotta wait for these people to un♥♥♥♥ the game.

AOE2 with some minor changes in 2021.

All the AOE nerds keep asking for AOE2 since they're boomers who live in the past, so that's what they get.

But then again, this game is about living in the past.
