Quite possibly one of the tightest and most fun adaptions of D&D I've played. The depth of dialogue and choice here promises dozens of play throughs before I see all the content.

After all this time it's still one of the strongest 4x space games out there. With each DLC release I find myself picking it back up for hours at a time. This continues to be my go to for killing time.

The active workshop page also helps change the flow and feel of the game as many creators spend their time improving aspects of the game they might feel are lacking.

This game puts you in the role of an aspiring occultist with no real guidance on what you are expected to do to progress. There is no tutorial and the initial play attempts will just be flailing around trying to understand how everything links together.

While the game itself comes with a steep learning curve, I personally enjoyed my time figuring out how to play. Each starting spot (doctor, cop, etc.. ) plays the game a little different as things are easier/harder to unlock with their starting cards. I've already spent multiple hours with each one only to fail in mundane ways. I can see myself spending many many more hours learning how each tie into one of the secret paths.

The combat is horrid and the AI is like herding cats. Many times you issue a command and the AI will over ride it to chose something else. There are much better games in this space and I'd recommend Pathfinder: Kingmaker over this title

A solid 4x game with enough diversity between the races to keep the game interesting

This is a great follow up to SotN and captures the fun of the old school side scrolling game
