I love!! the art direction, music and design. It reminds me of childhood books, tarot cards with a touch of fantasy to it. The gameplay takes some getting used to, but the tutorials guide you through it pretty nicely. If you are like me and already sold your soul to rogue-lite deckbuilders, you'll be completing rounds in no time.

Early Access Review
This is a wonderful light-hearted game.
It is fun, relaxing and easy to get into. It expects you to somewhat understand how farming sims work but has some wonderfully illustrated guidelines to help you along. The characters are varied and fun and have made me laugh out loud at times. I love the music, it is engaging but not distracting. Also I love the artstyle, which is what pulled me in - it did not disappoint. Excited to dive into the full version <33

MAN I love this game.
I feel like Supergiant Games understood what it means to do a sequel. Improve upon flaws from the first game and adding things to make it feel different enough to stand on its own feet and not feel like a very long DLC. Some stray thoughts:
- The mana system is probably going to be a hit or miss for many but I personally love it because it just makes sense with Melinoe as a character and her upbringing. It is challanging to master but that is exactly what I want from a rogue-lite. Give me something to be frustrated at and something where I WANT to learn to get better and kick ass with!
- I feel like it's harder to charm your way into people's hearts than in Hades I and I find that very fitting for characters like Nemesis
- The artstyle has remained fantastic, uplifted with more sprites during cutscenes. Love that! Wish they had kept the stark shading of the first one, though
- There is so much content ALREADY. It is very ambitious and even in early access I feel like we've gotten more content than the previous installment.
- speaking of the previous game, I feel like there is no way you can fully enjoy Hades II without having played Hades. It makes sense as a sequel and allows for a story that drags fans in immediately, but just as a fair warning.
- oh and the music?? fantastic. I love it. We listen to it on road trips along with all the other OSTs.

I wonder what else will be brought into this game going forward. I am instantly excited when I see there's updates queued. <3

Oh my, this game blew me away.

The first run you're still learning the ropes and things happen that make you want to redo the loop asap.
With each loop it feels like you're uncovering more and more ways to try and get everything work...right, a kind of similar feeling to when I played Majora's Mask as a kid. But the storylines here are more thought out and the theme captured me a bit more because it's the kind of sci-fi I could imagine to happen.
The story has stuck with me and I often find myself wondering if things could've gone differently which brings me back to wanting to play it more.

In terms of gameplay, the routine can be a bit tedious but I didn't mind all too much since for me it illustrated the loop very well. the card game is fun but sometimes I just had terrible luck with my cards, hah. But I never felt like I had to reload a safestate to get the "right" result.
