Because passionately committing to your calling is a difficult and risky lifelong task, the strength, determination, and bravery needed to follow your passion only strengthens your individuality, and makes you refuse to not be yourself, to act as if just any sort of life is equally good for you, to act as if the customary life prescribed by public opinion-the social norms, fashions, and customs-is the right one for you. By being true to your passion, you then stand in contradiction to another as a strong separate individual, steadfast in determination to be yourself as you hear your calling. By following your calling, you create a life for yourself that is uniquely yours, and not prepackaged as part of a mass body.
