I really wanted to like this game.
The psychological horror elements were done fantasticly well, the unnerving atmosphere, the glitches, the feeling of being stuck. I really appreciated the art direction, the humour and the interesting dialogues with interesting characters.
HOWEVER, in the last hour of the game the narrative started breaking apart. The game was consciously trying to confuse the player by telling a false narrative and making us try to put all the scattered pieces together. Keeping you concerned with one narrative so you keep your attention to the details of THAT narrative. And then the game completely changes its narrative and all the pieces you managed to put together also turn out to be false? I understand unrelliable narrators can make good tool for such psychological storyelling but tell me why am I learning Anya’s pregnancy was not consensual from an internet forum? where was it hinted at in the game? It is appearently the reason Jimmy does what he does but I this is not hinted well enough for something SO important to the plot. It is also quite frustrating to see the character you have been playing as and sympathizing with is an s*** abuser. This just comes out of nowhere, since the beginning the game wants you to think Curly is the one to blame only to shift it for shock value. It truly feels like it was done for shock value, which is strange because the rest of the game handles horror very well.
I also found the puzzles and the game loop a bit strange, every puzzle and level feels like it belongs to a different game, as if different designers worked on them. There are no reocurring gameplay, the game just expects you to figure it out every single time therefore no feeling of progression. (Especially the cargo and ventilation levels)
I did really want to like this game, I enjoyed the art and the subjects it talks about like the psychological struggles of employees in mass corporations, depression and mental illness. I was genuinely enjoying the narrative too until I found out about the SA thing... That just ruined this story for me. Not because it is a sensitive and forbidden subject or whatever but if that was indeed the subject then the execution was off. Nonethless I think its a good horror game and every horror enthutiast should play.

Absolutely mindblowing experience! The simplicity of the gameplay with the complex and beautiful environment keeps you involved in the world that it creates. Not to mention the musical masterpiece of Takeshi Furukawa. I got goosebumps with awe multiple times during my play.
