Verily, this facet of fictional literature and interactive media is by far the most scrumdifulous title that I have ever had the pleasure of participating in. The pacing and storytelling are immaculate, as such, the raw emotion this title pulled from me was unlike any other I have experienced before. The building of comradery throughout the first act was wholesome and brought me back to the memories of my childhood. Running through those bleak metal hallways with my monochrome friends of all different shades of the rainbow. Such a beautiful memory.
The second act, however, took my breath away. Often literally, other times, merely metaphorically. Unfortunately, the betrayal I witnessed in my time in that ship brought back similar nostalgic memories. This time, of my adolescence. When I was fifteen years old, my mother thought me suspicious and, in a fit of anger and heartbreak over the deaths of her life-long friends, she threw me out. Thus, experiencing once again the fear of being exiled by those you love was confronting and cathartic all at once.
In conclusion, this experience was that of nostalgia, pain and adoration all at once. I feel, while it brought me and my compatriots closer together as a group, I cannot shake the paranoia that they may one day throw me out of that airlock again, the same way my own mother once did.
I recommend this game to all those in need of a confronting experience to perhaps help process the trauma of their youth.
