Destiny 2 has come a very long way. I am proud now to say it ranks among one of my favorite games and even gives my main lust for a timesink a run for its money. Basically, Destiny creators Bungie, wanted a more RPG like experience after the success of Destiny. Originally just a console game, with the launch of Destiny 2, news came about for a PC version.

Having both, having played both, I can honestly say the PC version is better than the PS4 version even with my 55" 4K HDR screen, sure, Destiny looks amazing and its wonderful for couch time, but compared to PC Destiny 2. . . its just better.

So, while some of what you will read negatively about this game is true, it really does come down to personal preference on certain things. Some people love RPGs but cant stand FPS. Or vice versa. This is why Bungie made the entire vanilla launch game, the next 2 expacks and then certain portions of Forsaken available totally free of charge. So, if you like either RPGs or FPS games, give it a shot. Its free anyways and the free version has a massive amount of content to get you sucked in.

Amazing value. Incredible replay value and with free mods like Long War 2, its been a few years already and I still havent done everything. Hands down one of the best buys you can find anywhere for a game. Its turn-based tactical strategy RPG formula is the flagship of the entire genre. If you loved Final Fantasy Tactics, you are going to love this. This is almost the same sort of game except with cover bonuses, fog of war on combat maps and high tech weaponry. Be warned however if you are one of these idiots who dont like a game if its not open world. Its not open world. That is to say however that you can go anywhere in your territory however there is no exploration portion to this game. This game focuses on teamwork of your squad, levelling them up, levelling up your technology, managing resources to balance your strength between upgraded weapons, armor, items, facilities, research and engineering further upgrades.

I feel GalCiv is the best 4x game you can get. Space based anyways. The ship creator remains a highlight and definitely sets this game apart from everything else. Nothing says "I hate my friends" than building those insane capital ships that just destroy everything in their path and wake during a lan game.

There are other games that are simpler or easier to play, sure. There are even games out there that give more functionality and specificity to how you govern your planets/towns etc. The governorship role here isnt too complicated, but its just enough to feel like you arent simply clicking and hoping it turns out for the best or worst in some cases. Love this franchise and the game creators too.

At first, I loved the idea of this game. However, I was expecting something a little more along the lines of XCOM when I first began. I was disillusioned quickly and realized this game is about something other than firesquad tactics. It is more about taking advantage of surprise and making that perfect setup for a perfect entry and clear opposed to just loading in and blowing everything up with grenades. Tactical sense rating for this game in my opinion is about an 8. There doesnt seem to be much room left tactically than whats here. Gameplay wise, I only spent about 4 hours playing this game so clearly I did not master nor beat it but I would give gameplay about a 6 or 7. It wasnt enough for me personally to remain enthralled, but I am sure others will find it quite fun and a matter of pride setting up for perfection. Great game!

Vacation day 4: just going to sleep meow.

Below is a review of the game which has kept me up this long. Its called "Sid Meier's Civilization: Beyond Earth" and is a turn based strategy game. Think Civilization, but turn based. Its actually almost identical to a game called "Alpha Centauri" except with updated graphics and new tech and stuff.

Finally finished 1 game of Beyond Earth. I won with the mind flower. Had every tech researched and 3 full culture branches (might, harmony, knowledge). By the time victory occurred, I had taken full control of 3 factions (Slavic, Polystralia and that Brazillian one). Allies with Africa and the French lady. I had been allied with the German lady but she declared war on me saying something along the lines of "We have cowered in fear long enough!" or something. The American thing (ARC?) and the German faction were both at war against me. I felt like that boss in that Cataclysm 5 man "BREAK YOURSELVES UPON MY BODY!!!" as they attempted to flood me with their navy. I think I had about 9 carriers with 3 seraphs each and then each city had 3 seraphs too. All of this on top of say 20 or so Countesses, 12 Barons and about 7 submarine units. For ground forces, I didnt have much. 4 or 5 missile tank things, 2 of the giant lev destroyers, a single xeno titan and maybe 3 or 4 various troop units serving as pretty much city guards. Mannnn. That airforce put the hurting on them so hard and so fast, within 2 turns I had decimated their attacking units leaving them only with backups. I had over 160 total health, was gaining close to 600 culture per turn, over 300 capital per turn, almost 700 energy per turn and about 1600 science per turn- I filled out the knowledge tree entirely and focused on building health improvements and each city was focused on food production. The high health gave me a ton of bonus science and the focus on food promoted city growth which then in turn promoted production. My main capital had every city building possible in game and 9 wonders. This seems like the winning combo because with it, I dominated almost the entire game. Fun game. Infinite replay value. If you do not have this one, I HIGHLY recommend it. I played as the Kavithian Protectorate

Great game. Unfortunately for me, I got this as GTAV was coming out :/. I did however play for a bit and so far this game shows an insane amount of promise. Excellent attention to every single detail in the genre. If you are a fan of Saint's Row, Grand Theft Auto or any open world game like those, this is more than right up your alley. You should ask your mom to slap you if you haven't at least tried this. All in all, I give it 4/5 stars.

Pros:
Holy crap its detailed! Even down to the combat system!
Visually pleasing without the bloated system resource hogging of other *cough*rand*cough*eft*cough*auto games.
Intricate gang system and a wonderful blend of RPG elements to keep you on your toes and progress the story.

Cons:
Probably in one of the only game genres capable of being described as a title instead of genre, and this is not the title associated if you get my drift.
Somewhat clunky camera angles
Non-standard keyboard controls, i just got used to them. I am not sure if you can change the keybindings.
Possibly offensive to certain ethnicities.

Holy crap! I plays this on a PS3 at launch and it was ok. Play it on a PC at max settings and wooooooowwwww. Beautiful game. Amazing story like always. I havent tried the online stuff as I waited to sink my teeth into this game until it had a PC release. Very happy I did. Rockstar knocked it right out of the park with this one. 5/5 stars and yes 10/10 would bang ;)

Pros:
Very good controller support for 360 controller for windows.
Perfect blend of RPG elements into the game, including car customization, character customization, how you level skills and how frequently you earn skill ups.
Rant @ max settings- the game is gorgeous.

Cons:
Has been reported very buggy since launch. If you are in doubt, run a google search for "will it run on my pc" and you should find a few websites that will test your computer based on which game you select.
DS3 didnt seem to like it that much.
Somewhat system resource heavy no matter what settings. If you have a mid grade or higher gaming pc, you should be fine.

when i first started, i thought you had to let the game run. . . . i had no idea you could actually exit the game, and the game ran all by itself even when closed. your best bet, get up to 10 angel investors and restart. get to about 20 more investors for a total of 30 and restart. get to 100 and restart. you will generate so much more money at exponential speeds. each angel investor you carry over improves your profits by 2%. this game/simulator is insanely fun and its free. i have no idea how to specifically tell you why its fun or how its fun because all you really do is invest totally virtual currency, but it is.

Ai is awful, the dinosaurs get stuck on walls. the graphics are on par with an xbox game (no, not a 360, before that) circa red faction 2 era. for all its supposed to tout, the videos make the game look 10 times better. save your dollar. this simply is NOT worth it. even if they give it away for free, still not worth it. so many other interesting games you could play, even free ones. this game is flat, boring and brings NOTHING new to an FPS genre. this game will make you think of what a freshman high school student would show as a computer science project. if you think i feel hurt, i am. i didnt even buy this crap. my friend gave it to me and asked me to play with him. so we did. controls are clunky, and every gun and aspect of this game is nothing but regurgitated crap you have already played many times. this should have just been an extra piece of content in a real game. sort of like how they added "Zombies" to Call of Duty. dont get me wrong though, CoD sucks too.

Early Access Review
this is a clear example of a pay to win game. there is no single player- only multiplayer. 90% of everyone you will be teamed up with will be 100% awful. the rest will just come in and leave repeatedly. there are teams on this game already who know what they are doing, and manage to stay partied together despite "random matchmaking". the players are dull, and have no concept of strategy and also wont listen to anyone trying to tell them a strat. this is not a fun game whatsoever. dim witted players and then pro players tryign to fight eachother and then theres the people who paid for all sorts of content who are basically gods and will destroy you no matter how fast you think your trigger finger is. concept seemed nice. but theres a reason they are giving this game away all weekend. their execution is WAY off. dont even bother downloading this game even when it is free.
