Got this game for like 15$ and spent way too much time on it. The Vocaloid part of it was really minimal, basically the art they show you once you've completed the puzzles are some generic art of the Crypton 6, but if you enjoy Picross puzzles and other similar puzzles then you have more than enough to entertain you for a while.

Bought this as a meme and unironically enjoyed it. Would recommend.

It's a good game for when you want to turn off your brain and still be entertained. The 2D art is fantastic, and I'm really enjoying playing this big himbo demon lord and his interactions with the other characters. Although the battle system is kinda lacking, the focus isn't solely on it, so it's not too annoying, but it's a nice change of pace from it just being a visual novel. Still, the weapon customization and weapon triangle give it a bit of oomph, instead of just running into fights head first. I love it when games let me romance characters, and the dates being adorable really make me enjoy it. The only thing of note that I found really annoying was that in battle, there's this slow motion effect every time you hit an enemy, and at first I thought it was my PC having a stroke and dropping fps, but no, there was no fps drop. You get used to it after a while, but sometimes it can still be a bit jarring.
So if you want a cute game that can make you chuckle, I'd recommend this game, but if you're looking for something battle focused and dislike visual novels, then I would steer away.

Short and sweet game!

All in all for a free game I'd recommend to give it a try. The scenery in the game looks really amazing in the style the team chose to create the world with, where it looks realistic enough, but also goofy enough so that seeing the ennemies flying through the air doesn't seen too far fetched either. The little mammoth baby also looks adorable and having him get hurt breaks your heart, which is a plus when the goal is to protect the little babe. The gameplay and the way you control the mama I also really enjoyed, and of the three types of attacks, there wasn't a single one I didn't make use of. Seeing the ennemies ragdoll all around really gave my goopy goblin brain a good dose of dopamine and would have loved some more levels to send some more people flying. I also thought it was nice to have only the baby take damage, as it lead me to using the mother as a litteral tank to block javelins and protect the baby. Although it is short, going through it again to get all the achievements extends its playtime.

Although it was fun, there are some key points worth noting that did negatively impact the game. First of all was the response for the call/stay mechanic. Half the time I would try to make the baby sit and stay put, it wouldn't do anything. Often times it would work at the start of the level, but then towards the middle it wouldn't work anymore, so I ended up playing as if that wasn't part of the game at all. There also seems to be an issue with the achievements. For example, after playing the game for the first time and watching the credits, I did not get the game completed achievement when I, well, completed the game. I did get the Mama's boy achievement on my first run though, so it seems the end of the game only processes one achievement. I only got the game completed achievement on my second playthrough. There are a few others I noticed some issues with, which is a shame, because now perhaps they are achievements i actually completed, but did not get rewarded for.

All in all, the game is a bit rough around the edges, but it is still a very cute and fun game that I wouldn't mind recommending friends play!

This review might sound conflicting with the recommendation, but hear me out.

If you're into gore and depression, then by all means, this game is good. The art is amazing, and the story is suspensefull throughout. Discovering what is going on with Youji and the other students, putting together the bits and pieces together to figure out what the horror is all about was greatly satifying. The music reinforced the story greatly and couldn't have matched the events better and been better timed. Each character has great dept, and although these types of VNs are bought for the boys, my favourite character ended up being the one female as she was just as well written as the main cast.

If you're coming from Dramatical Murder thinking all the gore in sweet pool is as tame as Dmmd, clench your ass cheeks cause you're in for a ride, and I cannot stress this enough. I have read the previous reviews, and dismissed them as I thought I could take it. I could not. If you're more of VN player like myself who enjoys having good endings and a good time, this game is not made for you. Once I hit the credit scenes, I uninstalled the game and looked at kittens.

TL;DR When people say this game is not for the faint of heart, believe them, but if you can stomach it, this is an amazing game for its genre.

Genuinely sad that I've completed the game 100% because I loved it so much and I wish I could play it again for the first time. I was scared it wouldn't live up to the hype I heard about a few years back, but I found it definitely did.

The game itself looks amazing from the UI to the character art and CGs. The music is absolutely fire, and even though the bad endings absolutely crushed my heart, the songs they play for these endings still had me bopping my head to them. Out of the 5 routes, there was only one I disliked because of the character relationship with the MC, but the way the story progress still kept me relatively interested.

It's also worth noting that there is an 18+ dlc available for purchase on the Jast USA web page, which gives you the original game, uncensored, as the steam version has been censored. I got it, and I would definitely recommend it as well. If you are going to get it though, just make sure you install it before creating save files, as it may corrupt your save data.

All in all, it's not a VN for the faint of heart, but the good endings are absolutely amazing and I would recommend this game to anyone into BL stories. The only heresy about this game is that the OST isn't on Spotify.

One of my favourite games and I usualy don't like visual novel style games. The artwork is beautiful and just looking at it is enjoyable. Plus, all of the different stories are great and I don't mind playing through it again while I try to get all the achievements. All in all, I REALLY LOVE this game and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an otome game without a doubt.

Early Access Review
You can play anime songs using instruments and there's a mod to play as a cat. That's enough for me to give it a 10/10.
