Team Fortress 2. A game which has survived for 11 years so far and proving itself to be the grand daddy of the genre. For the timeless masterpiece it is, TF2 proved to have the amazing and addictive gameplay, the player's freedom of choice, great amount of mods to play and the community which was involved with the game along the years. Valve did an awesome job at making the gameplay fun, fair and skill based with its single fire primary weapons which reward aim and precision while using your movement to dodge the enemy's attacks. You can play as 9 different classes with their own abilities, weapons, personalities and hats. Each character is pretty different from the other which makes them unique in their own way. The Scout is fast and deadly at close range, the sniper is deadly from far away and so on. Of course the weapons they have can be swapped and with the player's creative mindset, you can come up with different playstyles. For an example the Engineer can be deffense, but once equiped with the Gunslinger, he can become a powerfull offensive character, Sniper with the Hunstman can attack instead of sitting in the far back and so forth. Ofc not everyone plays in the same way. You can always experiment with your loadout ideas to see which fits you best. For gamemods you have Control Point,Capture The Flag,Payload,Man vs Machine(coop),Mannpower and so forth. The many things you can do in TF2 are just off limits. Even the community is allowed to create its own content for the TF2 steam workshop and if Valve like it, they may greenlight ur item or map and in the next major update it will be in. For costumisation, instead of just weapons, you can choose among a hundred hats to make your main class look as cool as you like or it can reffer to you irl, or even reffer to your personality. The imagination is endless. TF2 survived many rip offs along the years and it will keep standing out as the one and only grand daddy of the genre.
