Poor base song setlist for $50, and you won't even have permanent access to much of the library unless if you pay $100+ more in DLC, about 99% of which is not high-level/endgame content for serious players.

Somehow a new bug has appeared in-game where notes appear in front of sliders instead of behind sliders, completely opposite to what arcade taiko does. Offset in this game wildly varies due to poor optimization and frame drops.

For western players playing at their normal hours, ranked mode is dead past A rank due to a lack of players. This hurts because ranked mode is the only way to potentially access songs locked behind the game's music pass, which other reviewers have rightly roasted for locking licensed songs behind a monthly subscription, potentially stripping away content from the player. A lot of endgame content is behind this music pass, so a huge timesink is involved for players wishing to grind to S rank and have a slight chance of playing a 10* without spending more than the $50 for this game.
Controller has an inherent advantage over keyboard due to having 4 keybinds for 'don' compared to keyboard's 2 keybinds, as well as a more conducive layout for button spamming, so drumrolls will almost always win lower ranked matches.

Almost all of the menus in this game are cluttered beyond belief. The offset settings are buried behind about 5 layers of menus, and will not automatically save if you try to test new settings, for an example of the menu frustration you will inevitably face when trying to optimize this game.

This game is fine if you're completely new, but this game is a toxic experience for those who have stuck with the series for long enough to enjoy endgame content.
