Half-Life 2 is one of the best games ever. What Valve did with HL2 was to create a masterpiece that revolutionized an industry and influenced the games that came later, becoming a pop culture object.
In Half-Life 2 they control Gordon Freeman, the scientist who survived the incident in Black Mesa, which arrives in City 17, a city controlled by Combine, an alien race that established an authoritarian regime in the city. Gordon is soon engaging in the struggle between a human strength and a Combine and a roller coaster of events that follow in one of the most memorable histories ever.
Half-Life 2 was developed for gaming and accounting. There are no cutscenes, a story unfolds around the protagonist and retains control over a character throughout the game.
It features memorable characters such as Alyx Vance, Barney, Dr Kleiner and of course the mysterious G-Man.
Visually the game is amazing. The game engine Fonte manages to create some of the most amazing animations and environments ever seen and a physics of objects corresponding to real life. The gameplay is fluid, and there are several weapons to use, with clear highlight for a Gravity Gun that allow manipulating objects or use them as projectiles. In certain sections there are vehicles to control, which varies the gameplay and there are also some puzzles that use the physics engine itself to the resolver during the advance in the game.
