Absolute banger of a game.

Soundtrack hits, buttons are responsive, visuals are wonderful, game play is super easy to get into, and I mean really get into, like bob your head sway back and forth while flicking your controller to the beat into.

As far as rhythm games go, this one in my opinion has a pretty mid to low difficulty overall. If you're looking to perfect through the fire and the flames like a masochist, this isn't it. What it is though, is a thoroughly enjoyable game that does everything right to engage the player and keep them entertained. Just a fun worthwhile experience every time it is booted up.

If you're into rhythm games (or looking to try one out) this is it.

Drop it down low. Drop it down low.

Combat feels great, art is fantastic, every character's personality is different and clear, and you can tell a lot of love went into the game.

The aesthetic and writing go pretty hand in hand. Just about everything you press A on has some kind of flavor text and I am all here for that.

The combat is really cool and enjoyable most of the time and I kind of wish there was more of it, but that didn't take away from the game for me. Some of the fights, especially those that have multiple enemies, can feel like a slog if they all decide to do their bullet hell attack, but it's not so much that it made the game unfun at any point.

The writing and plot aren't going to win any awards, however it feels just wonderfully genuine. To me, that goes A LOT further for enjoying the atmosphere that is being presented, caring about the characters, and feeling personally involved in the plot. I wish more games went this route.

For a game that is essentially a reoccurring blood war fought fight for dominance every 100 years, it's overly charming. The aesthetic and sound is goofy and gives off Freaky Forms (3DS) vibes which is just a fantastic throwback to me.

Gameplay is pretty straightforward for any monster collector. 4 moves, characters learn moves (You can see the level they learn moves in their party menu), however, your TEAM has a level that all your abomi are, there is no need to level up each guy individually. Super effective, resistances, x2, x4, 1/2, 1/4, with 8 different typing's. The really nice thing I enjoy about the combat is the game does all the calculations for you AND YOU CAN SEE IT. There is a formula displayed on the side when you select an attack and highlight the enemy you're choosing. No more "does this item improve this ability? Does my ability increase the damage of X attack?" It clearly lays out what is happening so there are no more surprises or guesswork about any modifiers.

You don't as much "Catch" creatures in this, as you do save a randomly selected guy (Based on seeds, which you can share with other players or replay yourself) in each different zone you enter between towns. You're given limited creatures of varied or not so varied typing's to finish the game with. Permadeath on is how the game is meant to be played (story explanation to it) but can be turned off.

There is a point in the game around the 2nd-3rd boss where you can summon an abomi from another person's games which adds a nice little "add my guy to your game" connection with friends. You can copy their codes either from when they die, or after you complete the game in the past run sections of the main menu to send to other people. You can only add 1 abomi from another person to your game per run. They keep their nature and their names. Here's a few of my favorites if you need some!
Snappycara[1D1DA16E66E5GC0E56E86E5E5C0G66GE5G1919GA1
Plasmoth[1D1DA16E66E5GC06E1986E5E5E5G66GC0GE5GC097
Taranther[1D1DA16E66E5GA19786E5E5E5G66GE5GC061GC0C0

There is a custom game menu where you can adjust the amount of bosses you fight, max levels, starting levels, even how you can choose the abomi that you meet along the way. You still get Temporal (currency used to unlock items/abomi/areas to chance appear in future runs) to spend from finishing the custom games which is a great.

Typical runs can take a few hours on standard mode. I usually finished mine over a few day of playing. Game took about 40 hours to 100% while playing casually (Not turning off animations, reading text, talking to everyone)

Overall great cute little game world that can best be described as an upside down smiley face.

Every Recommended is "This game is sweet and feels really good"
Every Not Recommended is "ThIs GaMe IsN't BlAzBlUe"

So ya. Figure it out.

Game feels great and the character system of generating through mind training and taking it to ACE is pretty unique and cool. The story is kind of jank and all over the place, but it does seem like it's going to tie into itself at the end and I've been enjoying it for what it is. They do question where the Avatars you play as come from during the story, so maybe blazblue does get tied in eventually!

I love this game. The aesthetic, the atmosphere, the game play, it all meshes together amazingly well. The creatures are interesting, typing counters are fluid, it all just works. I wish I could figure out a better way to say everything I appreciate this game does but it really is just as simple as it's great, I love it. Could not recommend enough.

Really enjoyed the game start to finish. Equipping 2 usable weapons of choice per character and not needing to switch between them to use them felt really great. The cutscenes were enjoyable and gave the characters enough life to connect with while not feeling like it was interrupting the gameplay. Exploration is pretty straightforward; the game locks doors that show on your map with colored keys so you'll know when it's time to go back to a room you haven't been in yet. Would recommend to any metroidvania players looking for a less-stressful adventure.

The walls are made of some kind of hard rocky substance.

Really chill game to just pick up and put down whenever.
