absolutely nothing new or interesting in this game

A solid vania that gave me Ys vibes due to it's style, and some (not all) of it's music. It's cooking system, and it's crafting system made think of Ys as well, so if any of that sounds good to you, this is an easy recommend you can't go wrong here.

If just looking for a good vania in general, this game could be for you. Combat is sound, and fun. You can juggle a bit. Story can be a little fanservicy but it does not ruin the experience unless you are strongly adverse to that kind of thing.

All and all, very good game.

its not the worst game i've ever played but i'm giving it a thumbs down. maybe they'll fix it in some updates but this feels a bit like 'game released too soon' and a couple parts just don't work for me.

Bugs:
- every time i exit the options menu it exits full screen and kicks me to my desktop, super annoying
- you press up on the controller to talk/interact. This doesn't always work and I have to press it multiple times to get the interaction to happen.

Not compelling:
- there's like a 3d asteroids space shooter part and its just, awkward. it just feels awkward. Not only do I not want to blow up rocks, its just kinda weird how they fly at you.
- games like this need to have super smooth controls. like butta. This game's controls don't feel smooth, they feel, idk, kinda just meh.
- you have special moves but its kinda hard to tell when you do it because it looks/feels/sounds exactly like when you're just mashing the attack button
- everything feels like it takes too many hits. there's even a side quest where you have to kill these chickens, and they take forever to die, like ugh, why does something just take so many hits to kill. its not like interesting combat, itsjust, mashmashmash
- the ladders are so slow. so.... slow. its even worse when you're trying to go down and what you want to do is jump through the floor and you end up getting on the ladder. ughhhhhhhhhhhh. at least going up you can jump to go up faster. They're just soooo slowwwwwwwww.
- jump feels floaty, dash feels short

the good:
- runs ok
- i guess they put their time into fan service and not the gameplay

maybe an update will make it better? there are definitely better metroidvanias out there with a lot more polish and finer tuned controls/combat. I say pass for now.
