The gameplay feels really great from movement to gunplay.. On release day, everyone was just deathballing down mid and it was a stomp on one side or the other, but since then everyday people are playing more around the actual synergy of the characters. It's been a much better experience as time has gone by. I would definitely recommend to anyone who quit right at launch to give it another try now.

Unlocking new mechs is kind of odd without using money. Currently, doing the beginner pass and the free battle pass are the only way to get the currency as I've seen. The FREE battlepass by itself gives you enough to purchase a mech. The default mechs are all very diverse and fun on their own so it's not a massive deal, still kind of a weird choice though.

If you plan on buying the Battle pass, it cost 980 evo coins (9.80usd). As you progress through it you actually earn all your evo coins back you spent on it which is actually pretty cool. I'm suspecting that if you drop the 10$ into the game and they continue that trend, you SHOULD be able to rebuy each battlepass assuming you finish the one before it. This is yet to be seen, but it does look like how it's going to work.

Overall, it's super fun, give it a try at least. Most of the current negative reviews agree that the ACTUAL GAMEPLAY is fun.
