Ignoring all the "Gooner Bait" posts about the game - highly recommend checking out the Demo, that's what sealed it for me.
The game is extremely fun to play and really pulls you in, same goes for the characters and world it takes place in.

If you're into souls-like but with a mix of hack & slash, with a interesting story - then this game is definitely for you.
Just finished the game with "Making New Memories" as my ending, very satisfied with the time spent playing n' exploring.

The saddest, yet most fun and beautiful game in years. GOTY.

Combat is super satisfying same as the predecessor (realism-like), visually pleasing with a few more scenery & scenario shifts compared to the first game.

Glad to have had the chance to play it on PC, while being mostly spoiler free aside from the most obvious social media reaction explosions - that being the original release on the PS4.

Did find 2 core functions quite frustrating in the game:

1.
The quick crafting by pressing "Space" on MnK would often be overridden by "vaulting" - which understandably would be a pain when your character would randomly vault over your cover or while crouched behind cover when trying to quick craft against enemies.

2.
Having the listening & quick switch button (Q) being mapped to the same key was a bit infuriating at times (accidentally switching weapons mid combat, when trying to pin point enemies whereabouts).

And as a side note like many others likely will agree to, being not that fond with how certain essential/core important characters died pretty abruptly (Get it that the game is supposed to show the sides of grief and loss but some of the deaths are quite stale/lame).

With all that out of the way.
Very enjoyable sequel with a lot of twists and plots + improvements to fundamentals.

Peak DOOM, gameplay/story/atmosphere/visual art style.

Getting the entire package, no more - nor less.

Simply a masterpiece through and through, amazing story telling & captures the apocalyptic scenery and the creatures of the world so well.

Played it on release back on the PS3, been a treat and a pleasure to be taken back to experience it in its full modernised glory.

Played this at release back on the PS3, revisited it on PC recently after so many years + as I got around to getting a QD-OLED.

My favourite horror game without a doubt, genuinely miss the multiplayer aspect of the game too.

They just don't make them like this anymore sadly.

Should have been a free update to the base game, seems very rushed and unfinished.
As other reviews stated, the price point of this "expansion" and the sheer size just doesn't add up.

You essentially pay 20 bucks (or got it with the Premium edition) for a DLC sized expansion that consists of a temporary space station + singular planet that has less content/quests than a random planet you pick from the main game.

Borderline scam.

EDIT: Typo.

With the bug fixes and revamped menus, its mostly a improvement from the "Legacy" edition, however removing text chat entirely from GTA Online on PC is absurd.

To add more fuel to the fire, we now have a more aggressive "chromatic aberration" & "TAA" that are both forced (unlike Legacy - was linked to the Post FX & Anti-aliasing setting which could be found in-game and within the config too, its completely hidden in the Enhanced edition - no way to turn it off).

The MSAA option has been completely removed too, which made the game look superb at 4x MSAA @ 1440p.

Raytracing is very noisy, especially Shadows & Reflections.

  • DirectX 12 Rendering API
  • Raytracing
  • Bug Fixes + Bonus Content

Is all that was needed, too many unnecessary changes + split the game into two different versions.

EDIT:
Updating to the newest DLSS + FG version (310.2.1 as of writing this) significantly reduced the ghosting & freed up a bit of VRAM, not sure if this is due to the specific version of DLSS + FG (3.7.10) used in the base game or not.

Game is super fun to play & has really good combat changes & new monsters + QoL additions coming from MH:W.

HOWEVER
Game runs terrible bad still (runs the same or even worse than all the 3-Betas).
Getting ~45-50 fps - Ultra with DLAA @ 1440p with a 4070 Super (~55-57fps on the MH-Wilds Benchmark), DLSS FG bumps it up to ~80-90 fps.

This is on par with the performance of Alan Wake 2 + path-tracing & Cyberpunk + Path-tracing.

Really thought Capcom learned from using the RE Engine in a large open-world scale game, from what we saw with Dragon's Dogma 2's performance.
Bold move to continue with it in Wilds too and changed nothing about - blows my mind.

Managed to bring over the terrible frame generation layering from Dragon's Dogma 2 + bunch of lighting/raytracing noise everywhere too, there's so much ghosting using DLSS Frame Generation (3.7.10) too.

Elden Ring 2

A lot of complaints for it being too hard (its a endgame expansion - collect blessings too!).

Pos (5):

1.
At first glance I believed it was not going to be as filled with content as the main game, it definitely proved me wrong.

2.
Lots of answers to past lore bits that was left hanging & bugging the community since the release of the game.

3.
Cool looking armours & weapons added to the game (with interesting NPC:s) with new and also unique Ash of Wars.

4.
Well done shifts and looks of the biomes & the environment, it is very vertical too unlike the main game.

5.
A lot of well designed and unique bosses/ads added to the game.

Cons (3):

1.
There are 4 bosses I've had the worst time battling with (not by difficulty but due to their sheer attacks & style)

"Divine Beast Dancing Lion"
- The lion from the trailers, lots of mix-ups (hard to read) difficult to dodge/attack since its airborne a lot (AoE attacks too).

"Commander Gaius"
- Just runs you through, has extremely tight dodge windows for majority of the attacks (best is to crutch tower shield).

"Metyr, Mother of Fingers"
- Most attacks are easily mistaken for movement, lot of poking and running circles dodging melee/AoE attacks.

Lastly

"Radahn, Consort of Miquella"
- Didn't think much of it as a challenge until this phase, you are fighting 2 beings at the same time while catching you mid-rolls by AoE attacks lining you up for even more melee attacks.

- AoE attacks also hits all around the entire arena & you'll either block with a negating shield or nail the dodge timings.

Hands down the most frustrating bosses I have come across from the souls franchise (as melee), period.

2.
New NPC:s with interesting quest-lines (from the positive section), were they just not so insanely easy to fail.

- Essentially you're immediately guided to explore the area, moving just a bit too far from the first grace will progress several quest-lines (which is fair) but doing any further will lock yourself out of quest-lines for the entire play-through
(This means you either need to restore a backup of your save prior to that, or start an entire new play-through).

I already for instance, have 3 NPC quest-lines completely locked out of because of this.

The NPC:s in question - Hornsent Grandam & The Dragon Priestess & Moore.

Unless you look up complete guides you will guaranteed get locked out from one of them.

3.
The finger ruins are completely empty.
- no dungeon, no bosses, just a bunch of ads (the areas are tied to a quest-line too).

These are the main positives & negatives that I came across when playing the Expansion.

I went in as a Level 121, while I kept myself ~150-160 for most of it.

Finished at level 181.
Playing as a Quality-Str-Dex-Melee-Faith build with Intelligence as offensive backup.
