This is a game that has a lot of stuff that's great for ADHD type personalities: Really simple gameplay that's instantly rewarding (you just smash blocks with laser swords), but then has enormous depth in terms of actually getting good at it, which for many of us requires actually getting physically fitter... sometimes a LOT fitter.

Figuring out how to get 115 points for each slash, practicing until you can full combo all the songs etc, and then there's the DLC and modding scene which extends the content so that there's always something new to be working on. It's got a lot of the features that I used to love about Rock Band, that determination to execute perfectly allowing you to play the same song over and over.

When I started I really struggled to make it though any song without getting exhausted. But the game was still fun because unlike a lot of rhythm games, timing actually isn't a factor here at all. All that matters is where exactly you hit the block, and the angle from top to bottom of the stroke. And that makes it extremely accessible, because you're not punished for not hitting it at exactly the right moment. It doesn't care. If you can reach it, you can smash it, and get the points for it.

But that was about three months ago. I've been playing it pretty much every single morning before work, and on the weekends. Sometimes it's 30 minutes, sometimes it's an hour, but during that time the positive effects on my body and mind have been measurable and real. Without doubt this is the only exercise that I truly vibe with, that fits with my lifestyle and personality.

This game has literally changed my actual life.
