Whoever wrote the characters for this game are very detached from reality. I cannot in good faith let these people keep my money, but if you skip through 100% of the dialogue the H-scenes are B+ for pixel art.

Pros:

Fun movement.
Power fantasy.
Turn your brain off and grind.
You can earn premium currency in-game.

Cons:

Awful story, feels like it was written by David Lynch trapped in a sensory deprivation chamber after he took shrooms and frantically needed to work on a screenplay before the deadline ended for an arthouse films indie festival. Like, really, really bad story. Lots went into giving the story a sense of extreme depth and it's all very fake and contrived.

Sometimes the fun brainless grind is a torturous grind as you do mission, after mission, after same mission for days on end trying to get resources so you can build something to start the next story quest.

Final Verdict:

Come for the gameplay and shut your brain off when story stuff crops up, and you'll enjoy your time with this game. Pseudo-intellectuals will say you're just not smart enough to enjoy the story, but you've got a library-sized compendium of Warhammer 40k lore knowledge to flaunt in their face if they try.

Individual shoes are worn in this game on each foot. I only had a diving fin until I found a golden slipper that slowed down time when worn. I spent two hours listening to "Time in a Bottle" by Jim Croce and Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) by Eurythmics while running around in bullet time dodging arrows, magic spells and handfuls of molten goblin ♥♥♥♥ while unloading my break-action .22 rifle I re-chambered to fire 7.62- with bullets I magically coated in poison. It's never a war crime the first time they say, but I'm probably not the first to use dark magics to make the act of taking an otherwise non-lethal shot in the arm a death sentence via biological and/or chemical magical warfare.

This game is punishing, but I'm already learning to love it.
8.7/10, my current game of the year.

Boring. I regret not refunding. Get Deep Rock Galactic instead.

This game is hours of mindless poxwalker-killing fun. A good game for fans of the "L4D" style loop, with room for both casual and in-depth players to save the world of Tertiem with the build and weapons they see fit. This game does have some blemishes here and there, and still has a little bit to go, but I feel like it's plenty great enough to justify the purchase and launch up with a couple of your friends. They've made huge strides in imrpoving the stability in the game and Fat Shark is doing a great job listening to the playerbase as the time of this review.

This game is addictive. Pure and simple. If your steam account was made before 2014, this was probably one of your first 10 games.

Give it another 8 years to patch out the bugs. This is by far the most janky, glitched AAA title- nay, ANY title not in Beta I've ever played. Awful. They literally pulled this game from the Playstation store.

I can't recommend this. I don't see eight years of progress on the M&B franchise. Almost an entire decade, and what we get is Warband with a slightly glossier coat of paint, some UI tweaks and an added in catapult during sieges. Voice acting isn't even in the game, or at least there is somehow even less voice acting than previous games. It's all very sad. What I see here doesn't reflect nearly a decade of work. I know this won't be the popular opinion though, and if you enjoy the game then I'm happy for you.
