Hope and despair.

"Metro: Last Light" is the sequel of "Metro 2033", with events that take place one year after the canonical ending of the previous game. Just as the first one, the player controls Artyom throughout a post-apocalyptic Moscow and the tunnels of the Metro.

Gameplay-wise, I couldn't tell any significant differences (minor changes were made to Artyom's watch) in comparison to the first game of the series. The player can choose between a stealth- or action-oriented gameplay. If you enjoyed the first game, you will probably enjoy the sequel.

Story-wise, the sequel dwells more into the Dark Ones and humanity's choices that led to the destruction of the world and that might lead to even more bloodshed. The atmosphere is really well constructed, aligning great with the story. Just as in the first game, the player's actions have influence over the ending through a system of "moral points" (which are not really explained in-game, but can be inferred).

For a game that has been released in 2014, the graphics aged quite well and is pretty much enjoyable. I honestly recommend playing the sequel if you enjoyed the first game.
