The king of arena fighters returns with Budokai Tenkaichi 4.

It is a straight upgrade from not only Budokai Tenkaichi 3 but also the combat mechanics of Xenoverse 2, taking everything good from both series and turning it into this singular ultimate arena fighter. Aside from things like beam struggles being back amongst other things the combat is fast, fluid, feels intuitive and has more depth than any previous Dragon Ball game.

The story(episode mode) is very interesting, as if you take certain actions you can branch off into entire what-if routes until they're completed. For instance, if you're able to defeat Raditz quickly you'll be able to completely change the trajectory of the saiyan/namek arc, causing Goku to never meet with King Kai and need to turn Super Saiyan to defeat Vegeta. So it's not just your stock standard play through the story like you have 20 times before in every other game, there's some actual depth to it and tons of branching paths to explore across the 8 playable characters. Do keep in mind though that the game absolutely prioritizes its combat/gameplay elements over the story, you aren't getting a Dragon Ball Z Kakarot or Tenkaichi 2 level storytelling experience here, but it's enough, especially with how it covers all the major story beats of Z/Super and multiple what-if routes.

Then there's the Custom Battle mode, if you've played Super Dragon Ball Heroes before you effectively know what it is, but you're able to completely set up custom scenarios, with even more control, being able to set triggers that occur when conditions are met, special win/lose conditions, add in dialog and make your completely own what-if scenarios, or perhaps recreate scenes that don't yet exist in the game like iconic movie battles customized nearly down to the last detail.

From the custom battles I've played that other people have made I have been very surprised at the amount of controllable things you have access to and in the future I wouldn't be surprised if every missing battle in the game was recreated, as well as very good custom what-if scenarios. The only downside to this is that it's very hard to search for specific dialog/speakers/etc, if you're going all in on making a custom scenario a lot of time could be spent just looking for what you need as you don't have the ability to freely manipulate dialog outside of character names/locations, and even then only existing ones on a list.

This game doesn't have the absolute plethora of game modes you might expect from a BT title, but they did go all-in on the World Tournament, allowing extreme customization of various tournament modes, some of which even make use of new mechanics to this title, such as switching in a fighter FighterZ style during the Tournament of Power. And to emphasize the previous point of how customizable the custom battles are I have no doubt that people will be able to make games within games or extremely unique matches with special conditions that fill the void of the missing content like Sim Dragon (RIP).

There's a few bugs here and there like enemies staying down instead of getting up or AI getting slightly bugged and ignoring you for a bit but those things can likely be fixed in upcoming patches, I don't even think we've had the day 1 patch yet so lots will likely be fixed as time goes on.

All in all this is a superb arena fighter experience and a game I'll probably find myself playing even more than TEKKEN 8, other things like the music and visuals are also at the very top of their game, at one point in a fight I got immersed enough that it felt like a scene straight out of the anime. 10/10 would go super sand with kakacarrot cake again.

The second collection is where things get spicy. Patch cards, dark chips, even turn-based strategy/tactics gameplay(BN5), the culmination of everything that made the earlier games good amplified with new things to do and see. Though some of the games may get a little repetitive (such as 4) the quality of the combat and overall gameplay is perfected throughout the 3 titles present in the second half of the collection.

Mega Man Battle Network 3 may still be many people's favorite, but you're definitely missing out if you don't play through at least 5&6. Arguably some people might advise you skip 4 but I'm pretty sure that at least I've played 4 more than 2 at the very least.

If you can only get one of the collections, this is the one I'd recommend due to having a lot more stuff to do, chips to collect, the most refined combat of the series as well as the inclusion of the Patch cards which allow you to alter Mega Man in ways not seen prior to the 4th title, as well as offering some additional bonus content/missions. The first collection is full of grind and while not bad doesn't really live up to today's standards (except for 3), in this package you get 2 great titles, and one mid-tier title with playtimes far exceeding 1&2 which makes it more than worth it over Vol 1.

Good adaptation of the card/board game; though with some bugs. Often in multiplayer matches I find I have to exit/reopen the game or someone else has to in order to continue the game due to the options not appearing for us; but the core of the game works fine & it's better than playing it on Tabletop Simulator at least.

Some of the animations are slow but it's not too big of a deal if playing with others since there'll be chat & banter going on usually.

Currently contains the first two expansions (unnatural axe & clerical errrors), looking forward to future expansions and the future of the digital game in general if it keeps getting updates.

Same level of quality you'd expect from other Key VNs (CLANNAD/Little Busters/Summer Pockets/etc). Super good soundtrack & voice acting, the story is great so far and almost exactly like how I remember the anime to be. Only real downside is that the game's default resolution is 1280x720, which is not what I'd consider "HD" in this day and age, but it's okay scaled up... Have had no issues with the actual VN itself from a technical standpoint either.

Major improvement over the original Switch version that released in 2021, from adding demon social links through the new Demon Haunt system to being able to save anywhere, qol with moving around, and of course an additional 60 hour campaign, but while still including the original 80 hour campaign.

There's genuinely so much improved/added with this one that it feels like it should be a Shin Megami Tensei VI rather than just a re-release. Even if you've played this before on the Switch there's more than enough to justify getting it again on PC, it also runs buttery smooth with no frame dips/stuttering from my experience, and of course the ability to go over 60 FPS whereas the Switch version of the original was a stuttery 30 FPS mess.

If you enjoy the Persona games, or just turn-based JRPGs in general then this is a must have, the only one with arguably better combat I believe would be Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, at least in the beginning. But there's a lot going on in the combat in this game, especially if you play on higher difficulties that forces you to make use of all your items/skills/buffs/debuffs/status ailments that no other JRPG really makes you pay attention to lately... While Infinite Wealth might start off with stronger combat, eventually it becomes easy and you can spam any move, which doesn't happen in SMT V on Hard Mode, as the game just continuously gets harder even against random enemy spawns in the over world, and each boss is a calculated puzzle you need to manage perfectly to beat.

TL;DR 10/10 must play for JRPG/RPG enjoyers, or even previous players of SMT V as nearly every fault with the game was fixed and there's so much more to do now.

Good core gameplay loop, enemies are very reactive to bullets/explosives, tactics involved in weapons you bring and how you use them, and the always on friendly fire make for a great time. It's what Starfield could've been, the planets are lush wish content and the moment you drop down you could immediately be in an engagement or near an objective to complete. You have to keep an eye out because it isn't just large swathes of empty space, but tons of side objectives litter the maps as well as enemy patrols.

This is my first experience with Helldivers, and I enjoy co-op with randoms and will keep playing, especially for the free content. You can also get the premium currency in-game without spending anything, not only from the battle pass(warbonds) but also from finding it on the map, so paying is optional, just a way to support the game + the battle passes won't expire when new ones appear.

The gameplay loop is kind of like how old Killzone multiplayer used to be, jump into a mission, you're given main objectives + side objectives, as far as i know the map/missions are randomly generated with the human GMs being able to alter things like effects/modifiers/usable bonus stratagems/npc behavior/etc to keep things interesting and dynamic. Mix that in with SOCOM third person shooter with a similar level of tactical/strategic play and you've got Helldivers 2. I've been waiting for something like this since they stopped making Killzone games.

It should also be noted that you will die. You're not the main character, you can't enhance your stats like health/etc, you're a single background soldier amongst many, you'll have to make full use of diving, stims, tactical positioning and cooperation with your allies in order to survive as long as possible. You might even say this is a soulslike third-person shooter, and it makes the fights all the more engaging for it. There's also an injury system similar to Fallout where you can break limbs and need to use the stim to recover your limbs, with each limb being broken makes it more difficult to get to safety or survive, all affecting you in different ways. All of this adds to the intense adrenaline-packed combat in the higher difficulties.

There's a few issues, I've been spawned outside of the map when joining someone else's lobby in the ship, stuck in the ground and had to be killed by a teammate, as well as stuck pressing a button that my character just wouldn't get off of, but overall it seems like issues are being fixed quickly as seen by the developments announced in the Discord server[discord.com] for the game. If you need a super high level of polish you might wanna hold off for a bit, but otherwise the potential this game has and what's already here is a lot of fun.

A free-to-play game that resembles a colorful and anime-like micro-Vampire Survivors. It has the polish and quality of a paid indie game like Vampire Survivors, and offers more than you'd expect.

It's worth trying it out, even if it's not as dark as Vampire Survivors. The gameplay is almost as deep and more interactive, as Vampire Survivors becomes automatic on higher levels, while Holocure doesn't with its better designed and smaller pool of items.

Provides bonus content for the game in the form of New Game+ and a new dungeon. If you plan to play the game through more than once iteration this DLC is required and adds tons of replay value to the game.

Massive upgrade from LAD7 in every way. LAD8 enhances the combat in ways that no turn-based JRPG has ever done before, the environment & positioning matter & comboing with your allies is more in-depth than the Legend of Heroes series.

The story starts off good, cutscenes seem higher quality than the rest of the series just from the first couple of chapters, the locations & minigames available at each location are plentiful and tons of new features such as actual Sujimon battles make this entry undoubtedly the best in the series.

Also based on the demo(Gaiden) gameplay, the jobs are pretty varied and as always nearly every single aspect of the game is fleshed out as always. I've still yet to get to Dondoko Island or enter the Sujimon league but I've seen enough already combined with demo gameplay to say this is the best RGG mainline entry so far.

Better than Disgaea 5. I've played it extensively on the Nintendo Switch and still bought ultimate edition for PC which should be an indicator of the quality of the game. This is more like a sequel to Disgaea 5 than it is to Disgaea 6, many mechanics return such as capturing through base, weapon skills and the largest roster of character classes that a Disgaea game has ever launched with.

Skip Disgaea 6 unless you're a hardcore fan and go straight to 7 in my opinion, although 6 had good tactical combat during the story it did not hold up at all post-game, but this one shines gloriously in post-game especially with the new item reincarnation/PvP systems and so on.

It should be noted that if this is your first time trying a Disgaea game then you should likely not start with this one as it starts with a high difficulty and all the mechanics that have been refined over the years such as reincarnation and demonic intelligence are in full force here along with new mechanics. If you're looking for a good starting point then I would recommend Disgaea 5, then after playing through that and learning everything coming here.

Though, this personally does not detract from mine own rating as I've been with the series since the first game, and to finally have a game focused on the fans & niche of the genre with needing to utilize these mechanics we've been given all these years is great.

Item Reincarnation alone as a system is worth the new entry, being able to craft (though through an RNG process) an item and outfit it with tons of properties and increase its power and/or even be able to do things like make edible weapons you can eat in an emergency is amazing and adds new depth/strategy to the game in the long-term if you're not a meta chaser.

For someone who plays the game and takes their time, this is by far the best Disgaea, there's tons to do and you'll find yourself absorbed for hundreds or even thousands of hours trying out different combinations of things both old and new.

10/10 best SRPG returns, again.
