Early Access Review
This game has a lot of improvements form the DayZ mod. At the time of writing this, the inventory system works about a hundred times better, the loot is far more interesting (with lots of clothes, food types and melee weapons), there is a point in looting every building and the game itself feels more like a zombie game and not like a zombie mod.

You should bear in mind that this is a buggy Alpha. It's not supposed to normally played but more supposed to be tested. You can of course play it like if it was a stable release but you will encounter lots of bugs that may/will frustrate you.

To sum everythin up: If you buy it right now, expect it to be fun but fairly buggy and therefore sometimes frustrating. If you buy it in let us say a year or so once it's nearly finished, expect it to be one of the best games you have ever played.

2019 edit:
The game has been released for a while now. A lot has changed and been added to the game, enough to justify its released-status. A huge addition is extensive modding support which makes DayZ Epoch-like servers possible (trader with safe-zone, custom building and loot placement, additional items, map with custom markers and much more). Because of this I would recommend this game to anyone willing to accept the fact that some parts of it are still buggy. Cars in particular are known to be "unstable" when driving to the point where your car might simply be launched into the air and disappear.
