Even among metroidvanias, this one in particular has a ton of replay value, in part due to how open-ended it is. There's no "true" sequence beyond the events that progress chapters, and even then you can find ways to break that sequence. With enough knowledge of the world and the game mechanics, you can go for almost any item or boss first. It's quite easy to set your own personal challenges in addition to the ones offered by the game's achievements.
