Hard to imagine this being an Early Access considering how polished it is. It's Harvest Moon with up to 16 players online. Lots of fun to be had but it doesn't take long till you've seen all.

It's hard for me to recommend or not this game as this is a very bare bones racing game. Then again maybe that's what you'd expect for the price you pay (which I didn't by the way, game was provided to me by the Developers). The game can be fun, but there are a lot of shortcomings which make it hard to want to keep playing it.

The core Gameplay is not bad, the driving/handling is arcady and fun, there's an option enable Smooth Turning that makes the cars turn a bit more realistically, since with the default setting they tend to be very twitchy and not obey the laws of physics at all. All cars have Nitros that deplete and charge back up with time, there's no bonus that make it charge faster like drifting or drafting, you just wait for them to charge back up which again goes back to how bare bones this game is.

My main complain is how the races just aren't balanced. Even though races are separated by Group Classes, you are forced to upgrade your car if you want to even have a chance to win, and once you upgrade it enough, races become very easy. They are never balanced, you either can't win, or you'll be lapping the other cars with ease. You can change the difficulty but that just seems like cheating, and the game forcing you to do the hard work to the sweet spot, something you'll need to do for every race/upgrade combo.

The career mode consists in selection of randomized races that depend on the car class you have, once you finish a race, that selection disappears and new one appears. There's no real sense of progression here, it's just pick a race (usually the one that gives you the most money), race, repeat until you have enough money to buy a new car, then do it all over again.

There's an online mode as well but I wasn't able to test it as no one is playing this game.

Graphics are... well... serviceable. The colors are a bit on the ugly side and I hated how the game never looks very sharp, i was forced to turn off Anti-Aliasing and Downsample from 4k using the Graphics Card drivers to make it look decent.

Sound is also decent, cars have different sound engines and the game comes with a short collection of electronic music that does a good enough job keeping you pumped during the short races, but soon enough you'll get tired of hearing the same 10 songs over and over.

My humble opinion: If you have 5 bucks to spare, and you need something to entertain you for a few hours (emphases on the few), I guess there are worst things you can spend 5 bucks on, although personally, I can thing of better things to spend it on. I'm gonna give it a Thumbs Up but only because I'm forced to choose Yes or No, and this game isn't exactly terrible.

Time for my arbitrary scoring method (out of 10):
Controls/Gameplay: 7.5
Art/Graphics: 6.0
Sound/Music: 7.0
Replayability: 3.0
Fun factor: 7.5

Overall: 6.0

What I liked:
✔ Controls / Handling of the cars
✔ Music was nice
✔ Even though it's an isometric racer you can choose a 3rd person cam which I actually found it easier to play with.
✔ erm... can't think of anything else

What I didn't like:
✖ The career
✖ Lack of modes
✖ Difficulty is not balanced

Nitpicks:
- No one plays online
- Why do the cars always want to crash when the race finishes?

Early Access Review
When I put my money down on an early access I expect said money to help the development of the game I just backed, I don't expect it to fund the development of a new expansion pack that you are going to charge additional money for. How about you finish the game first? The game is still an optimized mess, you promised DX12 implementation and then backed out when NVIDIA came knocking, and you have the balls to fully develop a feature complete expansion pack for the game instead? And the funniest thing is people are reporting the expansion is more optimized than the base game, amazing...

Terrible voice acting in a typical zombie apocalypse story.

It's not a terrible game, it can actually be enjoyable at times, but it does have some control issues that at times will make you hate it.

Buy it if it's cheap.

Simply one of the most addicting games I've ever played. You just want to keep on digging, and digging, and digging.
