I know no one is going to see this review.
So I might as well write out a worthwhile review that no one is going to read, just because I love this game.
I love this game for many reasons, not because it is hard or necessarily challenging, rather, it is a very well designed game, and it is VERY fun and VERY engaging.

"Dark Souls is Hard."
When my friends ask why I personally don't think Dark Souls is "hard" and not as challenging as everyone thinks I use this analogy:
That Dark Souls is like your friends lazy dog, it sniffs you to see who you are, and then it wants scratches and belly rubs, however, it falls in love with these scratches and belly rubs, so every time it sees you, and you AREN'T giving it scratches and belly rubs, it bites you, it doesn't care, it just wants the damn scratches and belly rubs.

Once you start playing Dark Souls, specifically Dark Souls 3, you kinda get the hand of the controls, and start to understand how the game works, the beginning is mildly fun, giving you a decent boss to start with and throwaway enemies. Once you move past this, however, the enemies become more and more competent and you must learn their move sets. What people particularly find difficult about this game franchise is need to pay attention, all the time, like the dog. You don't pay attention, you die. You don't give belly rubs, you get the bite.

If you are just casually strolling through an area, constantly glancing at your phone, you are going to get slaughtered.
If you don't abide by its basic rules, you are going to get slaughtered.
If you pay attention, take on smart enemy encounters, use the right weapons, etc. You will find this game to be a challenge but never "unfair" or "hard" as far as I am concerned.

Sure, there will be moments, like where I am right now, where the current boss is just simply "unbeatable", or a certain set of enemies are just "harder than they should be", and there will be those moments, but you will learn to adapt, overcome, and move past these things and slowly get better and better at the game.
The beginning stages of the game have a hard learning curve, I'll admit, but once you get past this, and learn how to properly dodge, parry, select weapons, upgrade, etc. This game becomes a LOT of fun.

My Message to Players.
For all ENTIRELY new players to the series, never having picked up other games of this type before, or seen much on Dark Souls, I would recommend to not read too many guides, as it will be more of your own experience that way, giving the true Dark Souls experience. I would also say to try bosses without summons on the first try of each boss, then decide whether if your current gear and stats just aren't good enough or if you aren't skilled enough. If you really want to move on, but aren't skilled enough, get a summon to help you. If you simply don't have the firepower, then move on, maybe grind a bit, and make sure you can properly fight the boss first. Remember, you will defeat it at one point if given enough prep.

For all players in general. Please. Limit your summons. It ruins the game in my opinion to summon players to help you in most circumstances. The true experience lies in the unknown, without guides, and just trying things. This game is about failure. It is about setbacks. It quite actually tells you in the opening monologue that you quite literally are 'the unwanted trash OF the unwanted trash', and that you suck, the game TELLS you this. Sure, some bosses will seem like they aren't able to be defeated but trust me. It's either you're using a bad armor/weapons etc. combo, and need to change, or you don't house the skill and need to get better at the game to beat the boss. Summons do nothing but provide an easy mode to the game, which if that is what you are going for, a casual play of the game, then do that (and you can add me for help too, as of writing this I am about to finish the last boss, without ever summoning someone to my world). But for the true experience, keep summons on a minimum, and success will feel amazing when you do beat that one boss after 5 hours of attempts.

TL;DR
Albeit challenging for traditional play, a great game full of problem solving, lore, mystery, combat, and enthralling boss fights and enemies. I would recommend this game to just about everyone, as it teaches a lot for such a stark contrast to so many other games. Remember to keep on trying, and that failure only fuels success.
