interesting and engrossing visual novel, i'm looking forward to checking out Wirion's other project(s).

Thanking the stars I went into this completely blind save the premise cause it would have completely ruined it otherwise!

Made me feel so smart every time I deduced things correctly. Turns out all a game needs to make you feel like you're actually solving a mystery is to actually let you figure it out yourself, funnily enough; no need to hold our hands. It's quite remarkable how little you're explicitly given compared to pretty much any other game. It made me realise how little investigation we actually ever get to do in video games. It makes for a really engaging detective experience, simply because the player actually is doing the thinking and investigating, albeit in a contained and complete setting. I was almost jumping out of my seat during that final 10% of the game every time I noticed a new detail and made a new connection that got me closer and closer. Never really felt like reaching the end was that far out of reach and there was never a really long gap between crucial discoveries but I guess mileage will vary. Really great experience, well worth attention. Shame you can't really replay it but I got a good 8 hours out of it. (took 2 more hours for that silly little hidden achievement ;(( whyy can't you skip the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ memories on a replay)

I think a lot of my minor concerns with the game all stem from language issues, I think Pope has talked about this but it's a bit of a shame the game doesn't work as well in other languages, making certain aspects easier or harder, due to grammar differences, lack of equivalent words, etc. which is a shame but not too much you can do. Very minor, but the Formosans aren't actually saying each other's names and I think that including this in the translation wouldn't have changed the amount of information players received; translating 小姐 as 'miss' would still be enough information to correctly ID the person (and in Romance languages you can immediately ID them anyways).

Hopefully after a while this game will open the door for more like it, one of the best games I've played in a while.
