Glühwein Ingredients -

• 2 bottles high quality red wine
• a dash of brandy (or 2 glugs)
• 2 lemons + their juice
• 140g sugar
• 2 tbsp honey
• 6-12 cloves (I used 12 because I spilt them)
• 2 cinnamon sticks (use 8 if you're German)
• 2 oranges - cut into circle sliver things, no squeezing them
• 1 tbsp Allspice

Instructions -

Put the wine into a large pot and set it on the stove to low cook
Cut the lemons then squeeze them, add the skin and the juice to the wine
Slice the oranges and add them to the wine
Add the cloves, allspice, cinnamon sticks
Stir occasionally with a wooden spoon or ladle and leave the lid on
Cook on low until it simmers, but don't let it boil.
Serve hot in pre-warmed mugs
