*note: as of when this review is being written, my steam profile says i have 0.2 hours in the game. I have played the disk version for well over a thousand hours, and only own this game on steam because it was part of a humble bundle i got.

Everyone has the game that makes them into a pc gamer. Maybe you occasionally played some mario on your family's nintendo console, but there is the one game that makes them realize how awesome video games can be.

For me, that game is Star Wars Battlefront 2.

Allow me to explain the road to me playing this game. For at least a year, I played the original Battlefront weekly at my church's youth group. Some there who had played this said the second was so much better, and that i should play it sometime. My first experience playing The second battlefront came when my family visited our cousins in Malaysia. My cousin owned it on ps2, so we gave it a try.

My first reaction to this game? I hated it. My 13-year-old brain thought it added too much, making a simple and fun game into a nightmare of random buttom-pushing. I didn't change my mind on that untill that next year, when we visited my cousins again. I tried it woth cousin again and for some reason, I loved it! I started to appreciate the new content; the heroes, the new maps, the story mode. I loved it so much i bought it for pc.

Once i started playing in mid-july, it was all I did for the entire summer up untill the week before school started, when i bought some more star wars games because of how good this was, but i'm getting ahead of myself.

You may be asking, how did this game, with only 26 maps and 5 game modes, keep me coming back for a month and a half? The answer is mods. This game is the best example of a thriving mod community; if you check the moddb page for this game, there are still tons of mods being created. The mods make this game into an epic experience, from the overpowered republic commandoes in the battlefront: republic commando mod to the KOTOR era, maps and heroes from the conversion pack.

In short, buying this game is a must for anyone who likes epic games with a lot of content. It is my favourite game ever and is the reason I am a gamer.
