TL;DR: If you want the full experience, buy the full $69.99 or $99.99 versions. The DLCs are misleading and scammy.


To preface this novella, what little content is actually accessible without purchasing/re-purchasing content is fantastic. You can easily sink 1,000+ hours into this game and still find creative ways to complete missions. The HITMAN franchise is such a unique concept that is exceptionally well executed.

Now getting into the abhorrent practices from the idiot executives at IOI.

This is their current sales model.
Step 1: Sell the base game for $30.00
Step 2: Sell the Deluxe Pack for $35.99
For a total of ~ $55.99 (not on sale), you would think that you were getting buying games that are in the HITMAN franchise. So you go ahead, purchasing the game and expect IOI to be like any other publisher - straight forward and not confusing with the content that you're getting.

No. You are buying HITMAN (2016), some skins (which are totally useless for a new player), and some side missions (which you are heavily discouraged from playing). Oh yeah, and don't forget to sign up for a free account to get a soundtrack and some comic books. But that's fine I guess, not like I can get a refund because its DLC. Get scammed idiot.

Step 3: Staring at the campaign missions for HITMAN 2 and HITMAN 3, you consider the games in order to unlock access.
Well, unlucky for you there is a delisted upgrade pack. And oh, did we forget to mention that this upgrade pack is $40.00. You could have also just purchased this and the base game. Get scammed idiot.

Guess what, consumer? We just tricked you into buying that $99.99 game. Oh yeah, you also won't be receiving an extra copy HITMAN (2016) because you can't stack DLC on Steam. Get scammed idiot.

At least other companies will lie and mislead you to your face. IOI can get ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
