I'm just too stuck with what I already have. I don't use my new portable computer / gaming system. I don't play the games I buy (which are no longer games bought on Steam). etc.
In theory, I will one day, and I make sure I get a good deal on everything I buy (though, I would have bought Steam Deck at close to full price if my mind hadn't been convinced to change).
It's not even about "voting with a wallet"; I don't believe in that doing ♥♥♥♥.
I just don't want to get further invested in something that I've lost trust in
(any more than I already am) or have any extra things in my life that will remind me of the helplessness I felt due to an irl issue from 6 years ago.
You know the one. Most of you who are able to comment here do.
That's money that Valve could have had. Ohhhhh... WHOOPS! TOO BAD!
...btw, the issue was that I linked to BGO as one of the games that I like to play with friends. Yuuuuup. BGO. They said that Board Game Online was an advertisement. Doesn't make sense to me. They must be really scared about someone donating money to BGO instead of spending it on Steam.
...but apparently they're not worried about lying to users in the Support ticket system causing them to lose faith in Valve & Steam and to just cut back spending and miss out on Steam Deck sales and such. I also won't be telling my nieces and nephews to use Steam in the future. They're on Nintendo, and I'm just going to feed that interest.
I don't care that much.
Steam already caused me to lose trust and faith in them a while before they did that so it was just kind of like slapping a callus at that point.
This is why I changed it to that instead of bothering to reinstate the parts that supposedly weren't offending.
Which Steam Support actually answered my questions on in a helpful and honest way for a change (but they still never removed the false infractions on the forums, aside from a warning for the post where I said that they actually are doing a good job (before I grew to despise even having the potential to have to deal with them - which is why I still don't buy a Steam Deck even though I can afford it now) and something which a volunteer moderator said was spam that Support upheld (initially) but wasn't actually spam).
