Great game. Glad I bought it in early access to support the dev. Super excited to play the absolute sh!t out of it when it is feature complete and out in it's 1.0 form. It has been hard holding off while it is being developed but I think it will be more than worth it to have saved my first full play through once all of the features are in place.

Very excited for 1.0 and this game is most definitely worth the asking price if you like tower defense while the dev is obviously very committed to the game.

Far and away the best military simulation game on the market. Squad bridges the gap between the faster paced action of the Battlefield series and the almost monumentally slow pace of the Arma series. Squad definitely leans further to the Arma side of pacing but that is a good thing as you can't have a proper mil-sim with too fast paced action. If you have enjoyed the Arma games in the past but want a game that doesn't run like doggy-doo-doo and doesn't have crazy jank then this is the game for you. The post launch updates have been incredibly generous where so much has been added for free they could have had several large expansion sized DLCs up and I don't think people would be complaining. Unlike Arma and Battlefield, though, they don't nickle and dime for all their post launch content which is a huge reason to invest into this game and not the alternatives. Everything about this game is just a cut above the rest and I am so glad Offworld Industries exists with the passion and commitment to the genre.

Definitely buy.

Everything we wanted from a fallow up to the original smash hit Guns, Gore, and Cannoli! We had a crazy blast playing this couch co-op and eagerly await the next.

Fun TD game with good post launch updates. If you like TD this is a no brainer. I hope the dev keeps the post launch content updates coming as the only downside felt like there needed to be a bit more variety. Although, that is clearly coming to be the case with these great updates.

It has been quite a while since a survival/crafting game has completely sucked me in like this. Valheim is a game that does every part of the genre well which comes together and makes a game that is better than most of its ilk. The terrain generation is second to none where the world feels so alive and realistic. The weather effects are superb and the tree felling is top notch. The combat is good for the genre but definitely nowhere compared to a proper third person combat oriented game. All the elements of the game are very immersive and it is easy to lose days on end inside Valheim's expertly crafted world. Exploring the world and clearing dungeons with a buddy is so damn fun we are having an absolute blast. Another stand out feature is the deep modding support coupled with a dedicated community affords endless QoL improvements and extended game-play features. So far every time we have come up against a mechanic that isn't fleshed out enough or is too time consuming and tedious there has been a perfect mod which tweaks the mechanic just enough to make it exactly what it should be in out minds. Pretty much every aspect can tweaked and made to cater to our ideas of how things should be. The building is also a superbly well done aspect of the game while at first glance it seems quite basic but once you get a hold of how it works it is actually extremely intuitive and satisfying to make pretty much any structure one could want. Also, adding a couple mods extends the building pieces available and really opens up opportunities. Really, this game is something special and the devs should be proud of their work which has inspired an amazing and dedicated community. I could go on and on about the game but at this point if you are interested you should pick it up no matter if there is a sale or not as it is priced aggressively and is worth every cent at full price. I just can't get enough tbh if we are being h.

If you like survival / crafting games this is one of the best and I am sure it has a long and vibrant future ahead.

Excellent fast paced retro shooter with a modern control scheme. This game has a fantastic aesthetic that is executed with grace. The whole thing comes together into a great FPS experience.

Update 1: I have restarted the game with a fresh save file on an updated version of the game from my original review. It doesn't actually say it deals with my performance issue directly but it looks like so far, and I am pretty far into the game, the performance issue which I originally had is not present and I am able to play just fine. So, this likely means that the performance issue that I initially ran into which made me have to restart the game with a fresh save file may or may not affect you - there is likely no real way of telling at this point.

I am changing my recommendation to a yes with the caveat that people should read my original review below and decide if they are willing to hazard potentially restarting the game and having to do a significant portion of it again due to possible performance issues. Although, this game is so damn fun that I was more than willing to undertake that hazard in order to be able to play it through - I am absolutely loving this game!

Original Review:

This game is fantastic and it really sucks that there are horrendous performance issues that plague the game after two hours of game-time so you can't refund it. If the developer is able to fix the performance issues this game is a no-brainer but as it stands the performance has degraded so thoroughly after about three-ish hours of game-time that it is unplayable for me. My performance went from usually 110+ fps to sub 40 fps as something happens and everything takes a serious nosedive which will then affect your saved game in perpetuity.

TL;DR This game is absolutely fantastic but completely ruined by performance degradation after more than two hours of game-play which means you won't be able to play it and you won't be able to refund it. So, wait until the dev has fixed the issues before purchasing this one.

Yes, this is a fun retro FPS.
