I just wish there was more.

I assume the developers asked themselves, "what would a tower defence meets catan game be like?" Well, they answered the question and that answer is one hell of a kick butt tower defence game.

So far it is a really fun tower defence game where you build the map which keeps things very fresh in term of replay-ability. There are absolutely tons of towers, units, buildings, and spells to keep anyone busy for a long time - this game has serious content compared to most tower defence games. There are five biomes upon launch which is the only part of this game that feels a bit lacking, though this may be an unfair take, and I hope they add more through updates. That being said, there is way more content than you would expect from such a cheap game so only four biomes is more of a nitpick rather than a complaint.

This game is absolutely worth full price and anyone who likes tower defence is going to like this game for sure.

I'm having way more fun with this than I ever could have anticipated.

I'd say this is super classic tower defence but that would be at least a decade before this game with Starcraft and Warcraft 3. Although, this would accurately be termed super classic stand alone tower defence where it is a tower defence game and that's all that it is. If you like tower defence games this helped cement the stand alone tower defence genre as we know it today.

Complaint - Some people have had steam cloud not backup their saved games and this happened to me. I went from Win 10 to 11 with a fresh install and I lost my saved games. I far enough into the game that there is just no way I am starting again. I got a pack of saves for every chapter from their support which was nice but all of my choices made up to the point ween't in those saves and I had done a ton of side quests that weren't done as well so I just decided to uninstall and I will never finish it.

Review - it is a pretty competent slow paced first person shooter rpg and I enjoyed my time with it. There is nothing new or particularly interesting here but what they do is done well enough. It is worth a play if you like Robocop and some of the dry humour is pretty good. I wish I was able to finish the game to tell you more. It was worth it on sale for half price. I don't think it would have been worth it for full price but I didn't get to finish it so maybe I am wrong.

From what I was able to play it was a solid 7/10 and a good showing from a double A studio.

It's a well made indie homage to Max Payne. The art direction is pretty darn good, I am not a big fan of rap music but I can tell whoever made the music put a lot of effort into it and I definitely respect it. There is a decent variety of guns and they do feel different enough that I find myself switching between most of them throughout each level. The voice acting it really good - the voice actor for the protagonist did a particularly good job. My only real criticism is that it is fairly easy for the vast majority of the time and extremely repetitive while it does go on for a bit too long. It is good they made the chapters short so you can drop in and out and not play too much due to the repetitiveness of the game but I am finding it is overstaying its welcome and I am having a hard time finding the desire to finish it. If they cut out maybe a quarter of the game I think it would have landed much better. Still, it's a good game and worth a go if you like the Max Payne games.

All they had to do is make it like Grim Dawn where you could host your own server and your buddies would connect to you. I guess they figured they could police better and sell more from their MTX store this way and look how it panned out. Sure, it is good they have a fully offline mode but they also need to make local hosting a thing for people who don't care what so ever for interacting with people other than their friends and buying stupid crap from the MTX store. Hell, I'm sure they could still have the MTX store with the basic feature of being able to host your own game.

What a total let down. Don't buy this. Move along and play something that actually works.

I didn't like vampire survivors and someone said they didn't either but they liked this game. I was sceptical but got it for so cheap I couldn't say no. Well, it turns out I am really enjoying myself. I can't say what sets it apart from vampire survivors as I didn't play it much but I can tell you that this game is more fun. If you like auto shooters then this is a no brainer and if you're on the fence get this on sale and see for yourself.

Great puzzle game that just keeps getting better as you play. I haven't gotten to the truly wacky stuff yet but I have been having a lot of fun. If you like puzzle games this is definitely one of the best I have ever played.

Update after playing the full release version:
I played so much more of the early access than I intended as this game is amazing and with the release content it is even better. This is the absolute best bullet heaven game ever made in my opinion and if you like the genre and don't have this then you have to buy it right now. it is worth every penny at full price so don't even worry about waiting for a sale as it's pretty darn cheap anyways so if you're interested just get it whether it is on sale or not. I had put in something like 58 hours before the release and decided to start a new save file so I'm expecting to play at least another 60 hours as this game is so addicting.

For the bullet heaven genre this game is a 10/10!

Original Early Access review:
It's the only auto shooter I have ever enjoyed past the 20 minute mark. The inclusion of mining just hit the threshold for enough going on that it can keep my attention. I think I played like six hours of the demo and now about eight hours of early access and I can, especially for only $12 CAD, this game is worth every penny and pretty darn fun. They've launched with a super solid core of game play mechanics and three biomes. So, even though the launch content is good it is still quite thin for a game like this while I am sure more than enough content will be added before the launch and they say they plan to keep on going after as well. I very much look forward to future content and if you're a fan of these auto shooters then this game is a no brainer.
