Both in optimization and in the visual department, which are finally being done. The game's health has been getting better, a lot better, in fact since its release and since i started playing. It's still far from perfect but it's starting to become a lot better.

The Killer's powers are varied greatly and have everything from Canonically-fitting powers as well as enjoyable original ones, there's something for every taste in playstyle.

You will start the game with a good number of Survivors to start playing as, and the majority of them will give you the perks the community deemed Meta, meaning you're not at a disadvantage if you aren't interested in directly purchasing any of the DLC and rather would unlock them with in-game currency.
