Don't mistake my low hours of play on Steam for not knowing this game: I've been playing OW since it came out. My chill rank was mid to high masters (depending on role), and peaked at 4.2k on each role in the same season.
While Overwatch1 had its lows, even its lowest was better than current OW2 matchmaking. Plats from OW1 reaching GM in OW2 was and still is a complete joke (and no, it's not because the game changed to 5v5 and is suddenly "different" and bad players somehow got good overnight to that new "different"). With that came toxicity: know that movie trope where losers suddenly get a lot of power and their ego completely explode? Yeah, that's your typical "high" ranking OW players nowadays. You always had that type of people in master and GM (both usually in low Master/GM, because people finally reached that new tier) even in OW1, but DAMN it got so much worse in OW2 (low, mid, high, doesn't matter now). I mean OW always had some toxicity, especially from the dps who are the biggest whiners, but while I can deal with these kinds of people, I just can't tolerate people lacking basic logic and/or understanding of the game repeating what they heard from YT or Tiktok without applying any thoughts or context to it whatsoever.

But I kept playing because "Hey, games can improve over time: bugs can get fixed, balance and matchmaking updates can make the game feel better, and PVE is coming next/this year!". Yeah no, old bugs are still there, matchmaking is still a mess, but hey the shop is there and working! Won't talk much about the shop and the F2P move because that's mostly personal opinions, both can work, neither did though.

They finally changed Pratice Range after.. I don't know how many years. Didn't try it but from what I've seen, it seems to be fine. Definitely not something they could have done years before with a single developper. I mean, it's not like solo people, who have their own job to do, did a better pratice range in the Workshop (for people who don't know what it is: kind of a map editor/custom game creator) in what, months after it came out, right... right?

But what truly made me quit OW overnight wasn't the fact that reported toxic people (sexist, racist, telling people to unalive themselves etc) don't get removed from the gen... I mean player pool, or that OW2 is so focused on squeezing money out of whales or casuals that won't have time to unlock heroes locked behind a battlepass (premium BP fixes that though!) or do the challenges to unlock them later on (but you can buy these heroes directly for 10euros each though!), it was the PVE annoucement.

They don't respect their players, they don't respect their customers, they don't respect their fans.
I'm sorry if you missed the golden years of OW, but now, respect yourself and do what's best for you.

TLDR: The only good thing about OW2 is the nostalgic feeling attached to it thanks to OW1.
Well, I did meet my now wife while playing OW1, so there's that I guess?

I am really not sure whether to recommend this game or not.
The story is not good, the dialog lines are either fine, bad, or outright terrible (especially for Silver Talon, ESPECIALLY THE ENDING). The voices are hit or miss (I liked the male protagonist's voice even if it's "a bit too much", however found Silver Talon to be really lacking.... something, anyway it's quite subjective).

I only had 1 visual bug with aim down the sight: scopes were lower than where they should be, so basically useless and had to use laser sights, restarting game/verifying game etc didn't work, however found a (weird) fix: start a new campaign (finished tutorial, didn't try to leave right away) to check the scope there and it was fine. Came back to main campaign and it was working as normal, somehow.
Some problems with graphics: glitches, enemies' skins turning white/gray then normal.
I didn't have problems with FPS, however I am using a high end PC (gtx 3080).
I had 2 crashes to desktop, seemed to be random though (once by using the grapling hook on top of the train and the 2nd time I forgot by now), but no gamebreaking bugs.

The gameplay is fine: it is Doom in 40K. Although grapple+takedown might be a tad bit OP... (One shotting an Ogryn really shouldn't be a thing). Enemies can be overwhelming and it feels like some weapons are useless? (Tried a legendary shotgun, quickly came back to my epic autogun+sniper lasgun).
I've seen people complaining about not seeing enemies: really didn't have that problem, something yeah they can be hidden behind some smoke or in a very dark corner etc, but that's just a part of FPS games.. Moreover, since I didn't have the heart to augment the dog, I really had to find a use for him.
There are some problem with enemies spawning behind you, but that's only for the secondary missions (optional missions to get more money) and isn't a problem for most kinds of missions (saving witches is annoying for example, especially if you want to find all the chests, but you can still just rush through and free them all).

This game has a lot of problems, so why am I recommending it?
As I said, in the beginning, I wasn't sure if I wanted to recommend it or not, however after having written all that was wrong with it, I still had good memories of it and had good times/fun with it.
Glitches/bugs at launch are quite normal, and it's not an AAA game so I'm probably more forgiving with stuff like voice acting, or how the story is rather bad: it could have been good if the dialog was better and if the story had more background/went deeper. And even if the ending was terrible and.. too short? With that last twist right before credits, I still hope there will be a DLC.

Game looks like it's medium graphic, all you can change (as a PC player) is the resolution........... (and even then I tried the highest and it was bugging, hell I couldn't even skip the intro video. Also yeah, you need to restart every time you want to change resolution THERE ARE NO OTHER GRAPHIC OPTIONS).
The voice on the elf scout (wood elf waywatcher) is quite terrible (although I guess it's quite personnal), it was so bad that I actually went and play another character (sure it might be an overreaction from me but I just couldn't).
When you do expeditions (if you play Diablo 3 they're kinda like bounties), it will NOT tell you when it's clear (I did it twice and it never checked the "clear the area" box, I've scouted the map >3 times on each try and I just gave up). Also, THEY DON'T SHOW LAST ENEMIES STANDING, so you have 3 guys left ? Well go find them, nothing shows up on map (in expeditions), have fun.

Beside that, yeah it's a hack and slash..
Don't buy it unless under 20 euros...

EDIT 1: (same hour, around 8h of gameplay)
Okay, I think I was a bit TOO harsh on it..
I mean don't get me wrong, this no graphic options is TERRIBLE. (also wish we could see the enemies names, flags not only colored on 1 side [the flagbearer's flag are colored on 1 side and all white on the other], better sounds for enemies [although might just be a bug, but some enemies have quite bad sounds, like a repeating roar, really weird, so maybe just a bug])

But if you are really a fan of Warhammer, and like hack and slash, you can buy this for 40 euros..

EDIT 2: (around 13h of gameplay)
Okay so here's a list of cons:
- Enemies voices.
- During videos, sometimes the rythm of the narrator is just cut off.. Let me explain: He says a line, then immediatly after he continues onto the next (with another picture), there's no pause. It's like he's talking non stop and not narrating a story. It's not the fault of the narrator, but rather of whoever made the video. It's not game breaking, but since the story is already quite lacking, it's just annoying.. Also, twice (I think) it actually cuts his sentence (compared to the subtiles provided)
- Ask us if we really want to leave an area before making us do it or allows us to go back.. Again not game breaking, but you killed a boss, you see a rare item (orange one) dropping, and you want to click on it.. But since the boss died right near where the portal that brings you back to town appears, you didn't loot and just got teleported back. It's not a big deal since you always change gear anyway and it's not endgame gear. But it's still really annoying..
- Some bugs that I guess are going to get fixed : NPC's voice during conversations going mute (text box is there but you hear nothing from them, happened twice I think?), debuffs/buffs having a black box with no description (or a "lines to describe X effect" description. Clearly shows the game ISN'T FINISHED, not game breaking, but just shows the game haven't really been tested.... You encounter them when you do expeditions' events, or relic hunts' events). Flying monsters, nope not the kind with wings, just a normal ground anchored monster that should be on the ground, being in the air; in the same regards, monsters stuck behind chests (especially Tzeentch area) and if they drop anything, you can't loot it because it's behind the bloody chests.
- Okay so this one is actually quite big for this kind of game.. No statuts/debuffs description: Different from my last point with black box with no descriptions, here I mean, you have a bleeding/burning effect, you can see it because you're losing health every seconds without standing in anything special, but there is NOTHING to tell you what it is, how long it lasts etc..
- And well.. Already said that one but NO GRAPHIC OPTIONS, except for screen resolution.. But I heard they were going to add stuff in that regards so.. Guess we'll just need to wait a bit and see..
- Not much customisation: Some people have been complaining about the lack of customisation in gameplay. I agree and disagree.. There are only 4 ways to play, which are the different characters you can play. I picked mage, and sure you can choose to rather go magic, fire, or a mix of both. But that's it. For me it's fine, because.. it's warhammer lore. I think the issue here is the lack of classes you can play, rather than allowing the existing classes to be played more "freely" (I wouldn't want to suddenly see a Slayer with a rifle, but i would love to be a dwarf with an exploding rifle. Rather than play an empire captain, go for a greatsword or something).

As of 13h of gameplay (normal difficulty), I finished the story and started getting better gear with relic hunts (Nephalem rifts for Diablo players). It's short, you don't really get sucked into the story on the first run, which is quite bad seeing how much lore Warhammer has.. Not in the worst bracket of warhammer games, but very far from the good ones.. Wait for it to be on sale, or for some huge updates, but that won't save the story, only the gameplay.
I did say don't buy it unless it's under 20euros, or maybe 40euros for huge warhammer fans, but honestly the story isn't worth it at all.. So even if you're a huge warhammer fan, wait for it to have updates and the prices around 30euros or something..

EDIT 3:
Okay so, I've seen comments totally trashing this game, and some for good reasons.. But honestly don't give up, this can be a GREAT game.. But there's a lot of things to fix, and people need to realise it won't happen in a day..
For now, as I already said, either wait for sales or don't buy it, but since it has the potential to become a great game, I'll try to edit my review everytime they make a huge update.
