The addition of hero pass is really a slap to the players faces witch in turn really makes it hard for me to recommend the game if jagex is going to continue this way.

Easy anti cheat, while it might be one step forward for the devs of VRC it does nothing for Avatar based crashers and avatar ripping (which is still possible without a client). They had a year and 4 months after "being in contact with mod developers" and diddn't toss in anything that the community wanted from mods.
