If you are reading reviews wondering if you should get Beat Saber OR Audica, choose Beat Saber. It's more straightforward and easier to get into. Then, when you've played that for a bit, come back and get Audica. You won't be disappointed.

Like Beat Saber, Audica is a polished, AAA quality VR rhythm game. But instead of slicing with sabers, you use guns to shoot and melee targets in sync to the music. It's different enough to fit nicely next to Beat Saber in any VR library.

Alternatively if you want a VR rhythm game but find yourself "too cool" for the mainstream likes of Beat Saber, this game is perfect for you! Pull the trigger! Quick! Before it's mainstream too! Ahhhhh!

And yes, there's a modding community and custom songs in addition to the dlc :)

Update: After 18 hours and finishing the campaign on Expert, I can say that sightreading DOES get easier - it seems impossible at first but after playing through the higher difficulties you get better at reacting to the notes and predicting the patterns.

Update #2: After about 42 hours according to Steam I got Gold Stars on Expert on all the main songs (33/33). In addition to that I played all the DLC songs until they were at least 5 stars, so factor that in. Just updating about how long it might take for a rhythm game "enthusiast" to do something like that.

Maybe I'll update again if/when I grind out all the achievements.

I still maintain that this is one of the best rhythm games on steam and my favorite rhythm game for VR.
