Review Showcase
This game may not be for everyone, especially those who have no patience on cutscenes or those who hate losing so much. If you can get by pass that flaw, you're seriously awesome for trying. But if you judge the game based on negative reviews, you'll be missing out a lot from this gem.

Gameplay
It takes time to get used to the gameplay. You need to take note of character traits aside from class strengths and weaknesses. Sometimes you need to practice skirmishes to get a feel on the crew and note how far they can reach a certain point of the map.
It's like playing chess, but instead of one move per enemy, you get a set of moves and you need to finish it before your enemies turn.

The missions vary, most of the time you occupy enemy camps. There's a stealth mission where you need to rescue hostages on a special chapter, as well as hopeless mission where you need to be quick on taking enemy camps to avoid death.

Also topology! There's a spiral mountain map in the game in the latter chapters and it was really fun to play it. The maps are really fun, sometimes you can find hidden clues on where the blindspots are placed.

I find it challenging and very addictive, this game really needs tactics. My brain gets exercises from countless mission failures I've done. Well, as the saying goes "Learn form your mistakes".

Valkyria Chronicles 2 VS Valkyria Chronicles 1
Why am I even comparing the two? Like some of you here, I don't own a PS3 so the first VC game I played was its sequel. Upon playing I thought it would be as easy as VC2 but no...♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ this game is really hard! Probably because almost all flaws in VC1 are ironed out in VC2, especially the option to skip cutscenes or enemy movement cutscenes. In VC2 I can get away with a mission even if I suck at the game, however VC1 is rather unforgiving at that aspect.

Technical
I'm not experiencing any bugs on the game for now, and to think I'm just using a measly i3 processor. It's unfair to rate the game down after reporting it's buggy in it's early release. They're not even trying to do a replay after the pushed updates. This is a great console to pc game port in my opinion. It works flawlessly with an Xbox360 controller.
If you are experience crashing, update to STEAM BETA. Most of the problems are caused by Steam overlay in the game. STEAM BETA somehow fixed it.

A two thumbs up to SEGA
I've played Valkyria Chronicles 2 and 3 on PSP and decided to buy this to support PC ports and tell SEGA, fans freaking care about the franchise. I am hoping SEGA would also release Valkyria Chronicles 2 and 3 on PC, all the flaws in the first game are addressed and you can clearly see that the devs are very passionate about this game.
Trully this is a masterpiece. :)

Oh really?! Wow, how nice of you.

Yeah, the DR games are great and DR2 especially (at least in my opinion). If/when you play make sure it's a newly installed version of it. The support conversations carry over regardless of playthroughs, so you might end up in the middle of a conversation otherwise.

Playing OZMAFIA!! then? :3c

Aaaaa you finished DR2. I've been so curious what you'd think of it since I noticed you playing.
