Game is a strong contender for game of the year. There’s a musical moment during the game that truly just sets it apart from anything else I’ve played in a long time.

The narrative and character interactions are just amazing.

I like the game. I actually do, and I'll realistically play it until the servers shut down in 3-6 months. This is explicitly why I'm giving it a bad review.

You can tell out the gate that while a concept is there, it's implemented so poorly that this game will be dead soon. Grinding is too long, you lose good gear way too easily and the work to get that gear back is easily 10-12 hours if you're not passively collecting/making the parts. They need to redo the entire balance of the game or it's Dead in the Water.

This could be the worst port on the planet and it would still be the greatest J-ARPG of all time

This is a good game, but the update not only made all the characters look awful compared to their old models, the UI is actively cancerous to use. The fact that you get thrown out of the tool select every time you buy a tool is completely insane. I'm not entirely sure why they made this UI for consoles when most everyone who plays is on PC.

Please fix the UI.

This is the greatest cRPG ever made.

There's 0 unnecessary romance drama. 0 "Oh no, you have to pick the morally least evil side". It's just mechs stomping each other with practical decisions.

You can fix this game real fast:
-Remove P2P matchmaking
-Region lock me so I don't have to play with the Asiatic region.

Done.

Got stuck on the very first puzzle for 20 minutes.

It's an F2P shooter. Seeing as opinion reviews that take a whole Tolkien sized book to write are a joke, I'll state the pro's and cons and let you folks decide.

Pros:
-Least toxic FPS community I've ever seen, and I've been playing since Doom on 28.8 Baud
-Unique take on the shooter genre, using class based combat without the classes being as diverse as TF2 or OW
-Guns aren't P2W, nor is the game
-multiplayer is functional, and Terminal Conquest is an unique spin on point capture
-Paying money is pretty much only for aesthetics that no one but you sees
-Community isn't overrun by MLG tryhards. Meaning you can actually have fun
-Most important: Game is fun

Cons:
-Feels like there's a lack of content. Whether it's the player base, or only 2-5 guns to choose from in each category, some things just feel skeletal
-Grinding. Get ready to play 100 matches to unlock a new gun, and another 80 to deck it out
-No reason to use a gun other than an assault rifle or an SMG. Sniping is a joke, and only the auto-shotgun can keep up in a fight
-Characters lack personality. Feels less like a character driven shooter like a GiTS game should be, and more like Counter Strike.

I'd play it. It's relaxing for an old man like me who can't keep up with competitive shooters
