Early Access Review
This game requires a bit more polishing. Compared to its prequel the gameplay loop is not smooth and enjoying as it was before. The main downsides, as everybody mentioned, are that your weapons are VERY weak and the enemies are hit sponges. With basic staff it takes a 2-3 minutes to kill shadow tree boss while in Hades 1 it wasn't so slow and painful.

The second problem are the trinkets. The Poseidon and Artemis are straighforward downgrades. The god of oceans now only provide you with ingame currency and the knockback effect is inferior to Hades 1. The Artemis now is not crit infused killing machine but a 'do a 1 crit damage per one instance of your Sigil'. On the other hand, Demetra got buffed and her freeze is now insane. My only problem is that I always skip the encounters with Poseidon now because none of his gifts are useful.

The weapons are also underwhelming. The dual knifes are not as good as gloves were. The only good weapon I found enjoyable was the torch.

Overall, worth buying once for music and new fun gameplay, but the time investment in this game has diminishing returns. Hades 1 was peak as well as Transistor. Please, Supergiant, rethink the gameplay loop
