By making this game free, the developers have turned us all into thieves...
We've stolen fine art of the highest order that by rights we should've paid good money for...

good
- Lacie
- Music is exquisite
- Lovely environments
- Moth people (based)

bad
- cannot go to cool city
- not enough moths
- not enough Lacie
- I cannot hug Lacie
- no one hugs Lacie (why????)

6/10 game; would be 10/10 but 4 points deducted for being mean and not giving Lacie a hug

coherent thoughts, probably
Honest to God the first thing that caught my eye about this game (after how cute Lacie is, of course) was the double 99% review score with so many reviews on a free game. I've only ever seen scores like that on similar RPG/visual novel things with price tags in the $20-40 range.
I fell in love with the lakeside BGM the instant I heard it. All the music is utterly breathtaking, but a few particular tracks I could genuinely listen to for eternity.

I have only two actual complaints, and they honestly don't hurt the overall experience enough to make me enjoy it any less.
The main thing is that, while I know this is only the first chapter of a larger story, since it's being developed and released in this format (actual spoiler do not read unless you finished the game) I think it would've been nicer if this part of the story had more of a resolution. Upon reaching the ending it didn't feel as though anything had really changed; obviously as only one chapter of the story it wouldn't be anything too grand, but it would've been nice to see Lacie going home having made some more concrete progress in some direction.
The other thing is that it's an absolute tragedy that dialogue of Lacie empathizing with Miss Knives was removed after the demo version, or so I heard. I can't imagine why such a thing would've been removed; it only serves to make Lacie more endearing. To me at least, the similarity of her and Knives' past lives was readily apparent, and Lacie still has plenty of capacity for feelings so I think it's only natural she'd pick up on it.

All in all, this is the most willing I've been to give a developer money since buying Starsector a few years ago.

postscript
I love Lacie
I did my part, purchasing the soundtrack and supporter pack
if you love Lacie, you are obligated to do so as well
