This is because the grind system will take you longer than it took Moses to get to the holy lands.

See, you start with interwar vehicles. Sure, you can pick any nation, but these are vehicles made during the 1930s. They kinda suck. Very quickly, however, your grinding will grant you access to increasingly modern vehicles, until about the 1944-1945 years. This is when the grinding really steps in. It can take months to even unlock a vehicle, let own research it enough to have it upgraded.

Aside from this, playing War Thunder is pretty fun, especially with friends.

Oh, and play Russia. Best nation ;)
