The game is way too hard. The difficulty mode jumps from "ridiculously easy' to "unplayable" with no in-between. I was extremely excited to play this game because I loved Left 4 Dead, but unfortunately the game cannot be enjoyed in its current state.

A flawed, but enjoyable, experience. The game runs poorly, is buggy, has bizarre controls, is missing quality of life features, and feels empty when you're not being railroaded along on a mission. But, all of the missions feel very highly polished, and present interesting characters and stories that keep you engaged. I don't think the bugs are any more severe than in similar titles (Oblivion, Skyrim, Fallout 3 - basically anything by Bethesda), but it does mean that you need to save proactively and occasionally consult a walkthrough to check whether you're missing something vs, running into a bug. The shooting feels good, but it's somewhat hampered by the poor enemy AI and poor performance. I felt the driving mechanics were too touchy; I swapped between keyboard & mouse and a controller every time I entered/exited a vehicle, because driving on the keyboard was practically impossible for me. The story was interesting, and building your relationship with the characters increased the feeling of the weight of your choices (especially choosing which ending path you take).

I played through the game on a mix of Medium and High settings at 1080p using an i7-8750H and a GTX 1080 Max-Q, and found the game was significantly CPU bottlenecked; I experienced framerates of around ~30 in busy scenes (driving around the city during the day, when there are lots of NPCs).

I suspect once the game has had some time to mature via patches and (hopefully) DLC, many of these issues will be resolved. In the meantime, if you're willing to put up with the odd bug and dropped frame, the game is enjoyable.

Good game. I have a lot of fun playing it. I'm not sure I would call the "Online Co-op" tag appropriate, because you can't really co-op the campaign (all progress is made on the host's session; the guest does not retain any story progress made). There are occasionally very large jumps in difficulty (normally the challenges where waves of enemies attack you). Still, I recommend it.

Fun mechanics, very interesting story, and varied gameplay. Worth the sticker price, so an easy buy when on sale. Only complaints:

- Doesn't run particularly well considering the graphical fidelity. I played in 1600x900 on medium settings using a GTX 860M.
- DLC requires that you be a very high level in order to complete it, rendering it inaccessible unless you either grind or cheat.
- Most of the endings are objectively the "bad" thing to do outside the main storyline, which is disappointing. It would have been nice if there were some endings that short-circuited the story while resulting in a "good" ending.

All things considered, it's a very short list of complaints. Again, wholeheartedly recommend it.

The story seemed interesting, but it just wasn't mechanically fun to play. Felt like the larger enemies were just giant bullet sponges that killed the pace of combat.

Very glad that the decision was made to port this game to PC, especially considering that the platform of origin was the PS3. I can only hope that Sega will decide to port 2 and 3 in the future.
