The game looks very nice. The visuals and overall theme are very intriguing; the Geiger-esque feel of the world is something that isn't really seen in other places.

With that being said, the game feels like its very unfinished, and it pains me to say that. The controls for controllers are disappointing, having no way to use the joysticks for movement or directional aiming. There isn't any menu option at all when you pause the game, so i have to close it manually from task manager. There isn't anything wrong with the performance of the game, but there are bugs that are present that are noticeable.

Overall, it's a beautiful looking game, but in the state that is in right now, I can't really recommend it. (

Edit: Using a third-party program helps significantly with the controller support. Not a complete fix, but it makes the game more palatable. The dev does appear to be doing their best to try and resolve issues as well as improve the game experience, so that's very nice to see.

I would recommend this game now purely to show support to the dev and to hopefully help them find solutions to the issues at hand.

I'll be frank; if Starbound didn't allow mods, it wouldn't be as successful. I won't lie, its a well-made game, but there's so little to it. There's a ton of content that they used to have in the vanilla game, and when they released 1.0 the team just pulled out so much content, like weapons, cosmetics, world items, etc. The mods serve to fill that leftover space, which isnt a bad thing, but im just a bit disappointed in Chucklefish for leaving out so much. Hopefully it'll come back in future updates.

It's a fairly great game, the music is nice, graphics are nice, and the gameplay isn't half-bad. But the ending is absolute ♥♥♥♥; it feels like its really rushed and it kinda soured the game for me at the last moment. My advice: buy this game when it's on sale.

Teslagrad is one of those games that's difficult yet fun to play. The layout of the areas are very intricate and each puzzle that lies within them utilizes the game's main mechanic very well. The puzzles are not that hard to understand; but with the game's fast-moving controls and the numerous amount of obstacles, the game gets very tricky. The game's steampunk theme and the level design remind me a bit of Braid, the cartoony art style remind me of the TinTin comics, and the story is very well-rounded as well. I'd recommend this game to anyone who enjoys old-school metroidvania-style games.
