Easily the BEST game you can get for anyone, for any reason. Heck, to even call it a game in it of itself isn't exactly doing it justice. Garry's Mod IS a game, sure, and if you really want to review it based on what the game is straight off, all it is is a sandbox game, one where you can spawn in anything from whatever source games you happen to have, you can build, create battle scenarios, or create your own battle mechs, among other things. But the main appeal to Garry's Mod is NOT the sandbox, at least, not the base game's sandbox. No, the game thrives on modders, and the MASSIVE community of content creators that put in so much to make this game as beautiful as possible.

Talking about the sandbox specifically, there's literally thousands of mods that you can acquire for just about whatever you want. If you want new, fully scripted enemies, new weapons, new props, new buildings, new maps, even new mechanics, there's literally a mod for everything imaginable, and you can let your creativity flow in just about every way possible!

If you want to go into the other gamemodes, then you'll have hundreds to choose from. If you want some classic PVP, there's a ton of different Deathmatches, some as simplistic as deathmatch can be, and some that have a little extra twist, like pirate ship wars. If you want something not quite as straightforward, pvp with a bit more than just "shoot everything that moves", Trouble in Terrorist Town and Murder have your back. If you want something more laid back to have fun on, without stress, there's Prop Hunt, Hide and Seek. If you want something tense, something to keep you on your toes, there's Zombie Survival, Deathrun, etc. You get my point, there's games among games to be played here. I didn't get my 2000+ hours on this game playing just Sandbox, you know!

There's tons of gamemodes, and with that, comes TONS of communities. It's easy to find a server/community you like and can consider your place to go when you're feeling bored. Heck, I, alongside most of my friends, have become a big part of some communities, and it gave us some of the best times of our lives. It's impossible to say that the community or the player base for this game is bad, or even good, because of the sheer amount of groups. If you have an issue with one community, then you don't have to stay there. You can join a different community on the same gamemode, and find your place. That being said, a majority of my experiences with other people in this game are positive. There are a ton of bad eggs, sure, but a LOT of people just want to have fun, much like me, much like anyone reading this review.

This game, at $10, at $2.50, or at whatever price point it should happen to be in, is incredibly worth your while. There is just too much to go over in the small amount of space that I have writing this thing, and youtube videos are only capable of showing so much, you'd be stuck for hours watching all of what this game has to offer. There is an absolute guarantee that this game has something for everyone.
