After reading your replies I realized you got hold by nostalgia too much, to the point that thinking it's better to have repetitiveness than fun or balanced just so people can master them easier. Are we just ignoring how ass CSGO when it first launched? It got better little by little with constant updates back then, only after 5-6 years they are confident enough to slow down. Omega Striker is still in that phase where they need to experience things, they NEEDED the changes.
I'll pray for you that Odyssey will make a classic mode for you guys some days but I doubt many people would flock into that mode as it was the lack of depth killing beta.
I'm not trying to say the only people who like the changes are new players, as someone already commented here that they're new but saw footage of the beta and prefer the old version, but I can understand someone getting invested into this style if this is someone's first look into the game. The core gameplay is still there, just soured by the release, and considering how many new people are playing the game now, in reference to the third paragraph of my response to Choncc, it's understandable how some are defending it. I would also like a classic mode, but I also want to see if they can make these changes benefit the game rather than straight up removing them first.
Similar, not same. Unless you play with the same teammates, using the same characters, against the same opponents also using their characters, on the same map, then it is similar, not same. Similarity breeds familiarity, which can allow for a player to use their characters and skills better. I've known someone who deleted every map from Counter Strike except for Dust2. I admit I find that extreme a bit strange, but more power to them, because they were really good at playing on that map due to their familiarity with it.
I suppose it is a problem of expectation. I expected to play what I did during the beta with some neat additions that don't disrupt the flow of the game, which is not what I received. I generally dislike MOBA games, so I expected ex-Riot employees to identify what that could be to create a better game; Something that I got when I played the beta, but not any more.
