The original campaign (Prey the base game) was a fantastic mix of third person adventure and RPG shooter - System Shock 2 with modern graphics and an amazing world and level design that really shows their Looking Glass studios heritage. There is no other studio making games like this to my knowledge. With this expansion, they also manage to weave in adventure puzzle aspects.

You (the protagonist) is essentially an indentured slave to a corporation, (add great writing to the list) who to pay your debt to the company is trapped in a space pod and have to perform research by re-running a simulation of the events that took place on the moon during the Typhon outbreak. When you play the simulation the first time, escaping isn't that hard. But then you unlock more characters with diverse skills, and when you finish simulating one character (because they died or they escaped) you then take over as another character and playing with the world changes persisted. If your first character repaired a door, it will be repaired and will make passage easier. If your first character picked up every health pack and weapon...they will be gone for later characters.

To complete the game fully, do the true playthrough that releases your character from their enslavement to the company, you have to make each 5 of the characters escape in their own unique way (the telepathic Andrei has to reach the "mimic portal", the engineer has to repair the ship and install the piloting Neuromod, etc) in one simulation run. So the adventure puzzle aspect is figuring out the optimal order to play the characters, where to go, what to pick up adn what to leave.... And it is all on time - there is a global "simulation corruption" level, which if it maxes out kills the characters and resets the simulation to start. This rewards player creativity, problem solving, and player skill. PCGamesN called it a "AAA Rougelike" which is a great description.

An another amazing title from Arkane. 10/ 10 level of recommended.
