The game is simply great. Don't get discouraged by "you know who" views and behaviour. This game literally spits in her face quite a few times.

Gameplay wise it plays a lot like The Witcher 3, with less RPG elements but way better and more deep exploration and with wands instead of swords.

Story wise it might not be as complex and memoreable, but it's definitely strong in that regard too. No complaints here. Maybe with the exception of the fact that some cutscenes felt a bit rushed and the pacing of the end game part was a bit too fast.

The fighting system is surprisingly fun. Takes a bit of skill, but is not overly complex. It's just very enjoyable.
The game is very hard at the begining, when you still have only a few spells and no upgrades, but with better gear and catiously spent traits you can become absurdly powerful, which really makes it feel like you're making progress during your school year.

The world itself maybe isn't as big as some games, but it's incredibly detailed, and Hogwats itself is so complex, that even after almost 60 hours I could barely find my way around the school by myself (without the field guide).

I only wish the game was a bit longer and there was more to some of the side stories and villains (other than Ranrok), as their plot lines ended kind of abruptly and they got little to no screen time, despite there being said a lot about them throuout the game.

8.5/10 from me. This universe finally got some well deserved complex game. It's only a shame it got some bad press, because of actions of a person who simply created the universe this game is associated with. Believe me, this game doesn't share these views. Quite the opposite in fact.

If you like this universe, it's well worth your time.
