IT'S FINALLY ON STEAM! Judgment is a proper successor to the original Yakuza games (considering that Yakuza: Like A Dragon turned the series into a JRPG series, which I don't hate, far from it, but it's not a genre I'm into). Coming off Yakuza 6 (and Kiwami 2), Judgment feels like a proper upgrade from the series it originated. Gameplay wise, while it does still have some jank to it, the new combat mechanics such as juggling are a fantastic addition, pulling off long juggles on enemies is some of the most fun things you can do here. Soundtrack and the side content are also some of RGGS' best, I like the "quality > quantity" approach here much more than what the PS3 era Yakuza games did, which had TONS of filler and boring content in which felt INSANELY tedious to complete. However, Judgment's best aspect is it's fantastic story. I won't go into detail here because of spoilers, but I can say that thing might be the best story this studio ever wrote (and they wrote some amazing stuff before this). Overall, a fantastic game and one of my personal favorites of the past few years, definitely go check it out. If you've never played a Judgment or a Yakuza game in general, you are can play this without going through the Yakuza series, as the Yakuza stories are not connected to the Judgment games.
