Edit:

They have stepped back the PSN Account linking, or well to their credit, it was never a them thing, but rather Sony stepped it back. It's a good step to recovery, and nice that the team at least seemed like it wasn't onboard with the idea to begin with. That said I am leaving this review negative because I still want them to do better with their releases. Sony, the brickwall, has budged and shown retrospect, AH studios can do the same.

I'll be happy to come back and change this once I see the Devs squash some bugs, 'tis only fitting they lead by example. And while I'd like them to introduce new bugs to the game, I'd rather they not introduce new bugs as that song and dance is already old.

If you want it short and sweet, it's a wonderful game whose developers poured every ounce of their love and care into.

I don't usually go for these sortsa games, but I watched 1 minute of a stream and I decided to buy it immediately. 40 hours later, sometimes it really is that obvious.

The story is cute, sad, at times simple, but overall it was enjoyable.
The characters are charming and likable, even if they fit archetypes or have predictable fates.
The artstyle is beyond adorable, very well done and cute.
The voice-acting is above and beyond, it's high-quality and it's *everywhere*.
The sound and music design is without fault, I enjoyed it and it suited itself.
The combat is engaging and warrants thoughtfulness, though the difficulty curve seems entirely up to the player. I kept persisting against difficult elites early, and ended up trivializing combat for the latter 70% of the game, oh well.

I don't really value any arbitrary numeric scale, suffice to say, if you think you might like it, you'll love it. The game runs great on the Steam Deck. My only PSA is for completionists, there are a few missable things, typically character interactions, so if you really care, save in multiple slots.

Oh I also bought the DLC outfits, they're adorable and a nice way to support the Devs

Best game of its kind. Loved every moment playing it on the Steam Deck.

Not often a game can make me ignore my collection habit and just feel the world, great game. I don't have much time in it, because I just went with it, and I don't want to relive that experience yet.

First of all, my time in this game is deceptive. I've played this game and done about 90ish percent of the content when I first purchased it on the Epic Game Store. I have reached what could be called endings in this game. If you want a more accurate estimate of time played, it's about 20-30 hours. Is it that long of a game? Well no, depending how engrossed you get in its world, it could be shorter or longer than that.

Do I recommend this game? Absolutely. I purchased it twice for a reason, to show my support for this game. I sympathize with it because it gets overshadowed by a similar name-sake despite being a spectacular game. You get to play a space detective for god's sake.

If you can look past the anime tropes, then you're left with a game that follows the Soulsborne formula faithfully, a good story and a really nice soundtrack.

Ubisoft makes some sketchy decisions, but I'd be lying if I said 450 of those hours weren't filled with joy (steam lies about time played).

I think this is the diplomatic middle ground of features and complexity for this genre of games, and I love it.

Been playing this on and off since Alpha due to a lack of time, and I think the game as is fantastic, definitely worth $30 just for FTL-like playgrounds. But I can't shake the feeling that it still feels more like a proof of concept than a game. Generally speaking, add more variety all around to make each run feel truly different from the last, more than just a stat or a resource changing for that run.
