New player experience is very rough. You can spend a good amount of time with the goal of making a vehicle to reserve for your squad, only to find you made a one click mistake that makes that vehicle impossible to do what you intended.
Inevitably the truck was gone the next time I got in game. Zero trucks in depot. No materials in town to make any kind of truck, and I decide to go play something rewarding instead instead of walking to a salvage yard... to walk to a refinery... to walk to a garage... to get a basic truck.

All because of a one button mistake and couldn't reserve myself a truck.

Honestly disappointed. They showcase the brick laying and rebuilding aspects, but then you start finding instant build buildings that use up 45 bricks at once, and you wonder why it even makes you lay a single brick when it doesn't care to use it in other instances. I kind of feel cheated.

That, and the controls are a bit rough.

Opened a pack of stale hot dog buns. Got five.
Got home and opened my frozen pack of hot dogs. Got four.

10/10 real life simulator

I was expecting something else. Dirt exists primarily as an obstacle to the terrain. For anyone wanting to try this game out, just start a sandbox. destroy all the dirt in ember's cradle and then set up the automation you can set up with the local machines.
That was the game. Dirt is worthless, mining machines do not remove voxels. I realized too late that this was just going to be another logic gate puzzler with the negative downside to having to place every single piece by hand. Tedium.

I still remember the first game I loaded into. My dwarfs had reached the summit, hands shielding their eyes from the noon sun as they surveyed where the greatest dwarf-home the world has ever seen would be built.

But then! Without warning, an undead eagle assaults the dwarves. It was over in a flash. What just happened? I quickly discover the combat log, my mining dwarf had managed to hack head off the undead beast before much damage had been done, just a few scratches.

It was only an hour later, after my dwarf died to infection, did I see it. A seemingly out of place skull. I inspect the solitary skull only to realize, it was the eagle that had just killed my mining dwarf.

I was hooked.

Game is made to allow multiple accounts (so long as they pay) while they just released 'another' patch that tries to dissuade multiboxing.

The success of the game is dependent on the developers reducing the ways that the problem they created impacts the game they are trying to sell you.

The last time I stayed up until the morning light crept through the blinds was in the 90's and I was a teenager.
Three weekends lost to this game, and counting.

I bought this for my mom so she can play a new city builder. I also started with that mindset and three hours in I am thoroughly impressed overall and am ready to start attempt two, but this time with battles.

I bought a Labrador from a traveling arms merchant.
Set up training and later got a message it got named Kaori after bonding with someone.
Gets random addiction notification... for Kaori the Labrador Retriever... I look at the health tab, Alcohol tolerance and a recently acquired ambrosia addiction...
